Could Bulma build an Iron man type ''battle suit'' that is on par with Goku / Vegeta ?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 03:49 PM PST

Bulma built a damn time machine, which to my knowledge, nobody in any of the universes has done yet. This would in my opinion put her technical capabilities higher than anyone in existence. Even in present day earth, with our limited technology, we have built weapons that can obliterate all life on earth, yet we still have not reached the technical capabilities to travel back in time.

So this got me thinking. A person who can build a time machine should be able to build a machine that can withstand attacks from powerful energy based damage, and dish out large amounts of damage as well. It would just be a matter of finding the best possible method for defending against extremely powerful energy based attacks, and engineering an entire suit around that. Maybe it could be some kind of ''energy absorbing'' technology that return any damage it takes.

I think it would be a cool side story to see Bulma in a bad ass suit of Armour defending earth while Goku and Vegeta are gone. What do you guys think?

I hate how underrated the first part in the Buu Saga is to the DBZ community

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 03:25 PM PST

I get that the Buu Saga had alot of silly nonsense at most times. But the Saga could've been one of the best if it ended at Vegetas sacrifice. I don't feel that the Buu Saga should've even been called Buu Saga or center around this huge villain earth must defeat. People forget how breathtaking Vegeta's pent up rage was. His speeches, the emotions, the hope of that one day of beating someone who he deems his rival but feels Goku is not fit to be his rival. Vegetas rage showed me as a person I have all that rage where you store what you feel you should've been instead of where you are. Vegeta a SAIYAN PRINCE destined for greatness and being told by countless people how he is the embodiment of a Saiyan. What is he instead? A Saiyan on earth sitting peacefully having kids along with having a wife. A Saiyan whose dream was taken from him of someday defeating Frieza the man who destroyed his home, his people and ended Vegetas legacy.

The Buu Saga should've been called "Vegeta Saga". A perplexing name for some but a shocking one to the fans also. It should've showed us with the real Vegeta (from what hes been told be at his core) killing people, defeating goku, beating the big villain. His whole journey of emotions pushed to its surface over time after the Cell Saga and vegeta vowing never to fight again.

It should've ended at Vegeta defeating Buu while sacrificing himself but burrowing a legacy to the earth instead of his Saiyan home planet. He now regards Earth as where his legacy will be remembered. The first part of the Buu Saga gave us what we needed and what Vegeta needed to evolve to more than just number 2 to goku or that bad guy who turned good. He wanted to finally be on par with Goku or admired more than Goku. But no, we had this stupidity of power level boosts left and right and a buu along with countless other sillyness.

So that's how I feel, I honestly feel the first part of Buu Saga maybe being my favourite out of ANY sagas all together. Try this guys watch the whole of dbz but finish after the Vegeta sacrifice and believing that is just the end. I hope others agree or understand what I mean.

Toei and Bandai Financial Results: Dragon Ball made $1.15 billion in 2019

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 10:45 PM PST

Toei Animation and Bandai Namco published their results for the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2020.3, which started in 1 October 2019 and ended in 31 Dec 2019.

    Highlights:

    • For Bandai, Dragon Ball made almost $250 million. It answered for 15% of their total sales and was their biggest franchise. That's almost 50 million less in comparison with the last quarter, but it still is more than any other franchise has made on a quarter as far as we have detailed data.

    • If you sum Bandai's sales on this fiscal year with their two biggest franchises after Dragon Ball, Gundam and One Piece, you only get the same as Dragon Ball's sales.

    • Even with the comparatively small sales, Bandai increased their fiscal year estimates for DB by about 70 million dollars.

    • For Toei, Dragon Ball made at least* $37 million on the last quarter, that is, about a third of their total revenue.

This quarter Dragon Ball has clearly lost some of the steam that has been pushing since 2015. According to Toei's presentation, their disappointing quarter is mostly explained by falls in sales from Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle (on Japan) and Dragon Ball FighterZ (internationally). No surprise there.

Still, Dragon Ball kept its place as the main revenue carrier for both companies. Just look at the percentage revenues from Bandai and Toei. While Dragon Ball has decreased and One Piece (Toei's second franchise) and Gundam (Bandai's) have increased their sales, the difference between the franchises is still quite significant.

You can also look at the revenue graphs from Bandai and Toei. You can see how much Dragon Ball related revenue rose with RoF's launch, the Future Trunks and Universal Survival Arcs and DBS: Broly, and how it has stagnated since the series ended.

    * Toei doesn't completely break down their financial performance by franchise: any Japanese revenues from movie tickets, streaming rights, DVD sales and such (what they call "Domestic Film Revenue", but is more like a "Domestic Productions Revenue") are unknown.

    Any good documentaries out there?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 01:03 PM PST

I looked up any Dragon Ball or DBZ related documentaries on google, and it looks like there are about a thousand youtubers talking about the history of DBZ.

I tend to hate youtubers, so are there any great professionally made docs out there? I'll even take a youtuber as long as they don't start screaming and begging me to subscribe to their channel every five minuets, and just focus on the subject.

    Thanks!

Why were the Final Chapters produced differently than the rest of Kai?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 02:24 PM PST

The first 4 seasons of DBZ Kai were made by Q-TEC, cut a bunch of filler, and had higher overall quality, while the Final Seasons were done by Toei, kept most of the filler, and seemed much more rushed/cheap. There were also a few years separating the two releases, almost as if they were two different shows instead the final 3 seasons of the same show. Why the split? Was the original plan to only remaster through the Cell Saga and then they later changed their minds? If so, why did they originally plan to stop after Cell?

Why does Raditz really need Goku?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 07:37 PM PST

When Raditz shows up at Kame House, he says that he cannot allow Goku to simply refuse to rejoin the fold. However, the reason he gives for this is rather baffling. He says he and the other saiyans need Goku's help conquering a rather strong planet, and that, due to the fact that the saiyan race recently became endangered, Goku is too valuable to let go.

This begs the question of why he doesn't just get more soldiers from the rest of the Frieza Army. This was at a time when the Frieza Army was at the height of its power. They have millions of soldiers!

It would make so much more sense if Raditz simply felt that defecting from the Frieza Army was intolerable for its own sake. Real life militaries already act on such a mentality.

But that's not what Raditz said. He very clearly said that they NEEDED Goku's help because there weren't enough of them left to conquer that planet.

    So what the fuck?
