Krillen should be extremely proud of himself, his friends make him feel insignificant, but he's literally the GOAT lol.

    Posted: 22 Apr 2020 08:07 AM PDT

I don't know if people realize this, but Krillen is literally the strongest human OF ALL TIME!. Before you guys want to argue, remember Toriyama himself said Krillen is the strongest human so this isn't debatable. I think given his miniature size, the feats he was able to accomplish were amazing. He's not a Saiyan that gets stronger every time they fight or an Namek or God, no he's a human that has been able to go far beyond what any human should be able to do even when considering the humans that have trained their entire lives and never reached 1k power lvl. Truth be told and to put it in perspective how great Krillen is....if he were Saiyan at his current power level and planet Vegeta were not destroyed and only the known Super Saiyans were the only ones, Krillen would be top 10 on the planet.

Anyone else disappointed with the ending of Future Trunks story in Super?

    Posted: 22 Apr 2020 01:48 PM PDT

It just comes off as very anticlimactic and poorly done to me, no matter what angle I look at it from. If you want dark endings that have consequences, Trunks and Mai travelling to another timeline is a complete cop out. If you want an optimistic ending, then obviously the kids that gave Trunks energy for the Spirit Sword dying won't satisfy you. If you just want an ending where Trunks can be happy for once in his life, it still doesn't really work out because all the people they wish they could go back to (the refugees and the resistance) now have no relation or meaning to him. "The entire universe is gone, but now Trunks awkwardly avoids the consequences of it by living in a timeline where there's two of him" just has no depth or narrative and it's completely unsatisfying.

Here's one idea I had for a similar ending that works out better while still keeping what the writers intended in mind. Before Zamasu dies, he still kills everyone on Earth except for Trunks and Mai, but after Trunks kills him he now just exists in an ethereal state, where he's still technically alive but doesn't have the power to actually hurt anybody or exert any influence (or he just dies, either works for the purposes of this ending, but I feel this would make more sense). Trunks now decides that he won't keep time travelling for selfish purposes. Partly out of not wanting to abandon the timeline he fought so hard to protect, but also just out of a quiet respect for the people there who lost their lives due to his inability to save them, he chooses to stay in his timeline. After that, Trunks and Mai live solemnly as the last human beings in the destroyed world, and plan on repopulating the world Adam and Eve style.

I feel like this ending would work a lot better. There's still consequences, Trunks failed to effectively stop Zamasu and he now has to live the rest of his life in the broken world, with all the guilt of not being able to save it weighing on his back. But on the other hand, the burden of being the world's protector has been lifted off of him, and he now finally has an opportunity to live a peaceful life with Mai. Together with her the two of them can slowly restore humanity, and bring life and hope in to the ruined timeline. This would also parallel the original ending to Trunks story, where although Trunks suffered so much, and the world was bleak and post apocalyptic as a result of the damage caused by Cell and the Androids, humanity finally had hope for the first time in years. The message I got from the ending of Trunks story in Z was "things don't always turn out the way we want them to, but we have to persevere and find hope no matter what". I think this ending would convey that message and also more effectively convey what the writers of DBS had in mind. What do you all think?

Super Saiyan Theory? (Gohan =/= Broly?)

    Posted: 22 Apr 2020 08:07 PM PDT

Anyone notice how when they first started saying how only one Super Saiyan was born every thousands of years and how they harnessed the power of a great ape in there base form, but could barely control it (similar to Brody in the new movie)? Well I have a cool theory that has probably been debunked but cool nonetheless lol:

Saiyans power level increase after recovering from every near death injury, so one would think anyone could just finally transform into a super Saiyan that way. However, there seemed to be a cap/plateau to this, otherwise Vegeta May have actually transformed against Frieza on Namek!

Vegeta and Goku both were able to achieve the super Saiyan, but only AFTER dying! (Which may have taken that limiter off?) Maybe they were never ACTUALLY destined to become super saiyans...

Goten and Trunks may have only inherited this false type of Super Saiyan ability from Vegeta/Goku since they were conceived AFTER Vegeta/Goku attained the transformation. Which leaves me to my main point...

Gohan and Broly are the only "TRUE" super Saiyans! Both of them have similar rage modes where there power levels randomly increase/spike based on emotion! Gohan is the only one who attained the transformation without dying first, and went to the next level less than a year later! Plus look how young he was. In addition, his "Mystic"/Ultimate form kind of reminds me of Broly's berserk form with black hair that is sticking up. Only reason Gohan seems to not have yellow eyes like Broly is because the elder Kai never finished completely unlocking his potential! Anyone else find it weird that Goku had to go SSB + Kaioken JUST to take Gohan out in his Mystic/Ultimate form when they were training? Akira Toriyama could literally write Gohan out of his BS character arc with a theory like this lol.

TLDR: Goku/Vegeta = false super Saiyans, only got the additional zenkai boost to actually transform due to literally dying lol. Goten/Trunks inherited this dumbed down Super Saiyan transformation being conceived after Goku/Vegeta transformed. Gohan/Broly are the true destined "once every thousand of years" Super Saiyans. Gohan needs a new Berserk mode ASAP lol.

    The situation with Dragon Ball...

    The situation with Dragon Ball...

With Dragon Ball super being on Hiatus, we fans have had and most likely will have a lot of time to analyze what Dragon Ball has done right and wrong. The show, as amazing as it may be, has definitely taken some wrong turns along the way. This is a discussion post to talk about a few things I've found.

    1. Super's Hiatus: Dragon Ball Super return

The production of super has been on Hiatus for a while and some websites report it will be returning as early as fall 2020. This is most likely not happening, as reports from Toei says they are not working on any Dragon Ball episodes at the moment. So when are new Dragon Ball episodes coming? I wouldn't hold my breath for more episodes this year at least, especially with the new COVID-19 Pandemic. But, don't count out 2021, Vegeta's Japanese voice actor has tweeted this- "I just came out of a meeting at TOEI Animation!! But I won't tell you what it is!" Chances are, there is going to be a movie before the show around 2021 but we can expect something.

    2. GOHAN

Oh jeez. Don't get me started. I'm not even one of those Gohan super fanboys or even a Goku fanboy for that matter. I'm talking about his character progression. During the Cell Games, he was a mature character with a temper you don't want to ignite. That was cool. I didn't even like Gohan that much, sure, he was cool and all when he beat cell, and yes I thought it was an amazing way of ending the Cell games. I thought that the first episode of the Final Chapters was an amazing way of progressing his character. He was yes, smart and great at school, but he was also the "Golden Warrior" an awesome way of ironically giving Gohan credit when he was completely stolen of his credit for helping save the world, (which I am fine with too, I really don't care if the homie Satan got all the credit because it would mess up Gohan's character if he got credit) Gohan absolutely balling out in baseball and being this cool smart guy I thought was perfect. He was the strong and calm guy his dad was, while still being the smart guy Chi-Chi wanted him to be. I actually wouldn't mind if he was who the show was mainly about. Considering Gohan and Piccolo were Toriyama's favorite characters, I would assume that Gohan would keep this personality. But then I went on to episode two of the Final Chapters, and there it goes, all the respect I had for Gohan building up just breaking apart. The Great Saiyaman? Oh man, it was bad enough with the costume but I could deal with that, it was the voices, the name, the actions all combining together ruining the character. Even Trunks knows that he looks like an absolute loser. It's just not the same Gohan. Ok ok, I guess I'll let it slide. BUT... They have really picked it up in super. Super really is the best way to represent Gohan. He trained with Piccolo while still being a scholar and keeping his core values. Somehow, I really don't care for Saiyaman anymore. So, everyone complaining about the "wasted potential" is nothing, he performed honorably in the ToP and he showed how his personality is still worth something in Super. And one thing I realized is that Goku changed a lot from Dragon Ball to Z and that they usually act different than they did as a child. But let me know what you think...

    1. Everything is Goku vs. Vegeta

This is one that I think people get wrong and don't understand well. People constantly compare Goku and Vegeta. "Oh, Vegeta is a way better dad" "Vegeta is now a better person" "Goku never visits his family" "Vegeta is always so mean". My Idea is that that isn't the point. The whole Goku vs. Vegeta argument is unnecessary, and the real point was how both are Saiyans and have two completely different stories. Both try their best and it's not about who does it better because they both do what they can. Goku got hit in the head and was never taught these things or had a family of that type to look off of. Of course Vegeta does a better job, but they both do what they can and keep good intentions. I almost feel since Goku is always one step ahead of Vegeta, Vegeta fans try to find any fault in Goku and Goku fans do it back. But what do you guys think? Should this be as important as it is brought up?

    1. Goku's Stupidity

Okay, Goku has always been super naive and inconsiderate throughout Z, but in Super, he is flat out stupid. Like he can't do basic arithmetic which he has been taught and has shown the capability to do in Z and original. Super squeezes every drop of stupidity out of Goku at every chance for humor, but all they are doing is making him seem like a baboon. Like okay, he was not the brightest in Z but he literally questions everything in Super, this is where the writers play a part in the Goku vs. Vegeta play. They make Goku act like a fool and Vegeta always understands things, (except pacifier situation, which was a short time when they showed that due to being aliens they can be a little confused). Is Goku unnecessarily dumb in Super or is he just innocent?

    1. The new art style

This is completely just me asking for your opinions, do you prefer super's animation style or Broly's? I personally don't mind either, Broly's art reminds me of Z kai, and regular Super art looks kind of Modern. Whatever is easier for the artists is good for me.

Here are two quick pictures to compare.

    Super's Animation

    Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku

    Base Goku

    Dragon Ball Super: Broly's Animation

    SSB Goku

    Base Goku

Which one do you guys prefer?

    1. GT's Extra Hate

Yes, I know, people in the subreddit hates GT. It's not Canon and everyone considers it a mess. But frankly, I have to say this; GT is nothing compared to Z, and it isn't exactly as good as super either. It lacks the classic DB suspense that keeps us on our toes and is sort of a money grab for nostalgia. It is definitely not Toriyama level work, the show seems forced compared to Z, and Super has some great moments and does have the suspense making me able to string together almost 10 episodes a day. But with GT, I could but I would be pushing, I stop after 2 episodes, maybe 3 if I am feeling it. But, that being said, it is not a bad show, just not comparable to other Dragon Ball shows. I say it is a different show with the same characters. It's the type of show I would watch if it was on a live channel and it was on TV, but I wouldn't go out of my way after watching the first few episodes to find more like I did with Z, and eventually Super. It's hard to make a Dragon Ball Z caliber show for even the 60 episodes they tried, but even though they missed that mark, it is an okay show. The reason we hate it so much is that we are accustomed to how great Z was. If no other Dragon Ball show but GT came out, we wouldn't hate on it because that would be our image of Dragon Ball. But, I am not quite yet done with the show but I am nearing the end, and I hear the end is amazing. What do you guys think about GT?

    1. Don't Watch The Movies (If You're Like Me)

So when I started Super, I made the mistake of watching the Movies. I looked up on Reddit "Should I watch the movies or dragon ball Super?" and due to "good pacing" and "higher production value," I decided to watch them. But only the latter was true, the production value is visibly better and Super had its fair share of bad animating. But I can get past that. The problem was I suddenly didn't know that crazily faster pacing=good pacing. I saw one person on that Reddit post say that "if you want consistency, go for the show" And I didn't really know what he meant until I watched both. And boy, was he right. It's not that the movies are bad, they are simply way way way faster than DBS. I watched Dragon Ball Z for way longer than 1hr 30 mins at a time. And the movie clocked in for about that long. I would spend up to 4 hours, maybe more watching this show (since I started after Kai was completely done). I prefer watching the show because I live with the characters and see them grow in the show, and as a Dragon Ball fan, all I want to do is see more of it, so I recommend the show. And yes, I do know that the pacing during the ToP was absolute nonsense, we would watch a 23-minute battle, of only two people, and the in the show one minute would pass. Yes, that was complete malarkey. But otherwise, I recommend the show, you like and learn more about Beerus and Whis, and the Filler isn't bad. But do you guys recommend the movie or the show?

    1. Super's hate

Yes, I know that people think that Super is trash, and in terms of an anime, yes it does fall a little short, with animation flaws, and some people even hate the story. But, I think those people view it in the perspective of an anime, not Dragon Ball. Other people who hate it are obsessed with a singular character and are mad they either are not included or are portrayed in a way they don't like. And before you say I'm struck by nostalgia, I don't have any, I just finished watching Super and about to finish GT, I never watched this when I was younger. It is a good show overall and is a fitting successor to its legendary prequel. My only argument is many of the same people who said they hate the show are begging for more.

Please let me know below. I took a while on this so let me know what you think. First post on here and a new Dragon Ball fan.
