    I just checked the official wiki and out of all of the many MANY DB games that exist, the ONLY 2 that covered the Saiyaman Saga is Buu's Fury and more recently Kakarot! What the hell Bandai Namco?! Why do you ignore the arc that introduces Adult Gohan and Videl?! Not everyone has read the manga or watched the anime! You could easily do a Persona type thing balancing Gohan's life at Orange Star High with fighting crime as the Great Saiyaman!

    Hypothetical: What if they canonized SS4 via Gohan?

    This is a hybrid Discussion/FanFic post.

    I know there are lots of mixed feelings on GT and SS4 (personally I'm neutral on GT, it's not canon so it's quality isn't as important, plus I've broken the habit of over-analyzing things and either enjoy it or don't and move on, and I love the SS4 design, visually. It's my favorite transformation (again visually) with SSG second.

    References to current Manga happenings below:

    What if they canonized SS4 via Gohan?

    Name:

    I'd call it Telos Gohan (Telos is the Greek word for an object that has reached it's full potential i.e a seed's Telos is a tree that bears fruit)

    Someone (such as Goku or Vegeta) could suggest calling it SS4. But someone else (Gohan, Piccolo, Whis, or a Kai) suggests Telos for Gohan's new form.

    When:

    Current happening in the DBS Manga.

    How:

    After Moro releases planet energy from Vegeta's Forced Spirit Fission, the Energy from a faraway system's Moon is also released. Unknown to anyone, as the fighting between Vegeta and Moro continues, Gohan's tail begins to regrow as the Moon's energy begins to intensify around Gohan. Piccolo notices the strange and rapid change in Gohan, with both of their guards down, they are stuck by a stray ki blast from Moro, Gohan's left arm is severely injured, but Piccolo's wound is a far greater threat. Gohan's face goes blank for a moment, swiftly followed by an eruption of rage that he hasn't felt in years. The intense fighting stops as everyone takes notice of the surge of ki and emotions coming from Gohan. The loud crash of Earth echoes as a figure grows, Gohan becomes a Great Ape. With no control of his emotions or actions, he charges toward Moro. Moro toys with the sluggish brute, eventually luring Gohan's attacks toward a still exhausted Goku. With Goku trapped in the Great Ape's hands, Vegeta quickly rushes toward Gohan's tail, But Goku tells Vegeta to wait for just a little. "Hmph, idiot." Vegeta says, knowing Goku's intentions. "It'll be okay Gohan, Piccolo isn't dead. Plus Pan would be really scared if she saw you like this right?" Memories of his beloved Daughter and wife flood Gohan's thought's as large tears splash against the Earth. Gohan's body returns to normal... well it's normal size anyway, in a new form. "What a brat." Piccolo saws in a chuckle while giving Gohan a fresh Gi. Gohan glanced down at his new form, looks up toward Moro then says "I'm not like my Father or Vegeta... I don't fight for pleasure or pride... I fight solely to PROTECT!"

    Gohan fights Moro with a tranquil mindset, reading each move and not letting his guard down. Allowing Goku and Vegeta to recap and strategize.

    The arc should end as intended with Goku and or Vegeta taking down Moro. But Gohan gets some shine without surpassing Goku or Vegeta, similar to Trunks in the Future arc. While I am a Gohan fan I was excited to see Vegeta surpass Goku

    I've had plenty of fanfic type ideas to give Gohan some lime light without becoming stronger than Gku or Vegeta, but this was my favorite one and figured I'd share and see what other think about the idea of Canozing SS4.

    Why the potara nerf might be a good thing

    at first i wasn't a fan of this nerf, but i tried to look at it from a different perspective.

    it gives these potara-fusions a weakness. the only flaw it had was that when 2 people join, they stay that way forever. but we can't ignore the big dragon outside now can we. whatever after-affect they had to deal with, could have been solved with the dragonballs.

    if we look at vegito, he's basically a free win card, i mean, a being comprised of the most powerful mortals to ever have existed. what can they do but win. now don't get me wrong here, i like a good beat-down as much as the next fan. but if the fight becomes one-sided. there's no tension, it's just a curb-stomp

    potara doesn't have a timer like fusion dance, it seems to depend on how much power is used. if too much is used the fusion becomes unstable. knowing this limit, next fight, they have to plan for the long game, mitigate ki usage and only go all out when they know there foe is on his last leg. basically you'll stay fused if you don't overdo it.

    of course this might be the future strategy, but things might not go as planned. by having this "all-out "risk factor "during" battle, could spice up the conflict.

    Ultra Instinct Goku

    I was recently reading the dragonball super manga and was surprised by something i read in chapter 15. The potential of ssj energy is almost limitless. So when future trunks sparred with goku, his ssj2 energy is stated by vegeta to be the same as goku's ssj3 power. Trunks was so powerful with his ssj energy that goku had to go ssj god to win the match. That says alot about ssj energy. For starters ssj is triggered by rage which opens up the saiyan to a new abundance of power which in turn needs to be controlled if that saiyan is to reach ssj2.

    Now here's what i find interesting. For trunks ssj2 to be as strong as goku's ssj3 means to me that ssj3 is the saiyans full power gathered and kept at max for as long as that saiyans stamina can endure it. When goku went ssj3 against janemba & fat buu he was gathering energy for a while in his ssj2 form but in my opinion ssj3 is capped out at how far that particular saiyan can push their own power to the max. Being that half breed saiyans are stronger than full blooded saiyans, trunks cap at max power is way higher than goku's which i find really interesting because that means trunks is technically stronger than goku if goku had no god ki.

    But the true point i was aiming to make is this, i believe the farther you push yourself in ssj2 form, the stronger the ssj3 form ultimately. I dont think goku truly pushed his ssj2 energy more than trunks and i'll chalk that up to goku being dead for 7 years. That has to be one of the downsides to training because of the technicalities goku dealt with trying to gather energy for round 2 with kid buu. I do believe however if trunks chose to transform to ssj3 his transformation would be stronger than gokus. Ssj3 is just a flashy saiyan transformation, thats why i think vegeta still doesn't care for it even during the break between Z & super.

    So ssj1 is the intro to the energy so no use there in making it stronger without controlling it. Ssj2 is ssj energy controlled i'll say about 50% more but at a higher stamina drain because of the increase in power output but if you can control ssj2 fully and push its power to the absolute max then you're ssj3 form is a personal statement to how far you pushed your ssj energy throughout the years...Hope this made sense

    Ssj3 looks cool but ofcourse the star of the show is the only one truly wearing that cape...

    Piccolo trained with King Kai after Nappa killed him, and then got wished directly to Namek.

    Piccolo + Nail = Equal to 2nd form Frieza

    Piccolo + Nail + Kami = Equal to or slightly above Vegeta Super Saiyan

    So, pre-death Piccolo + Kami = ?

    What was Goten created for?

    After all these years I still do not get what Goten was created for besides being the sidekick and fusion partner of Kid Trunks.

    Hell even the games as Heroes and Co do treat him like someone not that important

    In canon I think he even destroyed the potential a Kid Trunks could have after we have seen Future Trunks.

    But no like Goten, Kid Trunks became a joke character as well instead of becoming an badass fighter like his future self. With Vegeta around it makes even less sense that Kid Trunks is a joke and there would be so much potential between him and Gohan to tell an alternate story to the sad story of the future.
