To all the people that hate the manga arc:

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:15 PM PDT

It's not bad writing it's consistent with Goku as a character. He spared Vegeta and look where that led us. He brought back Frieza despite how evil he is. It makes me angry because we can see all these examples of Goku sparing evil but not in this manner because there is no opportunity to. I hate that people hate this because they misunderstand the character. Like god damn he's been doing this forever. And I'm sick of them saying it's bad writing because it's consistent with the character. If he would have killed Moro I would have called it bad writing because it's not consistent with the character.

    Angel Cosplay Idea

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 03:39 PM PDT

Hey so I accidentally discovered a cheat in case anyone wants to cosplay as Whis, Vados, or any of the other angels. I was cleaning my car and removed the steering wheel covering. I put it around my neck, and it seems like the perfect size for their halos. For reference I have an SUV so it's a pretty big ring, measuring roughly 15 1/4 inches in diameter. I'm not a cosplayer myself so I don't know how people that do this would go about making a halo like that, but I just wanted to share my discovery. Hope everyone's staying safe in these crazy times and have a nice day!

What did Goku learn in the 7 years he was dead besides SSJ2,3 and fusion if their is anything else

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 04:44 PM PDT

I always thought when I first watched the filler arc in the anime where he faces with Pikkon that he would learn some broken techniques like the West Kai's special technique that Pikkon uses like the thunder flash attack or something of that sorts. But, I'm curious in any novels they address if he learned something that just wasn't useful other then the things we see implemented like super Saiyan 2,3 or the fusion dance that he teaches to trunks and Goten?

You're IronMan And you have to create a SAIYAN BUSTER ¿What would you add it?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 04:34 PM PDT

    Me personally:

    1.Energy drainers

    Just like 19, super 17(Gt)

and the ability to use that energy back.

    2-Force fields

    Like those 17(Super) uses

    3-Energy swords

Just like Krillin's kienzan(destructor disk) or Goku's black sword that can cut anyone

    4-POISON

Like the one Frost used in the first super tournament

Yamcha actually has Krillin's old personality and here's why.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 04:58 AM PDT

I've recently decided to rewatch all of Dragon Ball from the beginning to Super to GT and noticed something. Yamcha being a cocky hotshot is not his character. He only ever showed signs of cockiness when he first squared off against Tien, but even then it was more so confidence and he never underestimated his opponent. He was calm and collected.

Even in the Red Ribbon and King Piccolo situations he knew better than to run in head first and think less of his opponents. He approached those cautiously. Then jump ahead to 3 years after King Piccolo and we see now after his training that he underestimates his opponents, is hot-headed, makes light of them as if nobody compares, and is afraid of embarrassing himself. Here's why:

    He took Krillins place.

Originally, Yamcha was a serious character, to a degree, that served as a way to introduce the strength of new enemies. Such as Jackie Chun, Bandages the Mummy, and Tien. He didn't let his guard down, and didn't look for the spotlight. Krillin, although clearly stronger than Yamcha due to his Turtle Hermit training, was comic relief. Always getting ahead of himself, underestimating his opponents (after he defeated the oren temple guys), and his fights were mainly funny moments to ease the tension. Of course it was mostly a facade though. His first serious fight was against Goku, but that was only to show Krillins true strength outside of his less than spectacular battles.

Fast forward to Yamcha vs Kami and Krillin vs Piccolo.

Piccolo is the new enemy, and Krillin is used as the new character to introduce his strength replacing Yamcha. Krillin now has more confidence and comes at him with full strength. He has a decent battle, but ultimately concedes cause he knows he's outmatched. That can be considered progression if you want.

But Yamcha, now in Krillin's position, becomes the joke of the tournament. Kami delivers the kick and Yamcha assumes it's just luck, while Yajirobe knew right away of how powerful he was. Obviously Yamcha would've known right away as well if it was 3 years prior because there's literally no reason he shouldn't. He's not the type to underestimate his opponents. A kick hard enough to knock the wind out of him shouldn't be taken lightly regardless of what they look like. Aside from his spirit ball, his match becomes a joke (literally, everyone laughs), and he lands balls first on Kami's head. Yamcha is now the comic relief adopting Krillin's old role and personality. Regardless of how outmatched he was, he was also just as outmatched against Jackie Chun, and nothing of that comedic caliber took place.

This, in my opinion, is bad writing and character regression. In order to keep the trope and contrast the serious with comic relief, they sacrificed character. In fact, he can be considered an entirely different character. Yamcha never has any signs of this in his personality, nor does he ever receive the praise and attention that'd be necessary to boost his ego. But now he suddenly cares about his image even though he previously could care less about his fan club outside Bulma's house, or he could've boasted about himself when the press came to interview Goku after he defeated King Piccolo.

While I'm happy that Krillin became more confident and respectable, it's sad how Yamcha regressed as a character because the writers needed comic relief.

Let me know what you guys think and if you agree or disagree. I decided to rewatch because I wanted to get a better feel of the characters and their potential future in the franchise.

Even though Goku is based off Sun Wukong, Vegeta seems to share a lot of similarities with Wukong too

    Posted: 17 Oct 2020 01:55 AM PDT

In the beginning of Journey to the West, Wukong came to lead a group of monkeys and became their king much like how Vegeta was to rule the Saiyans. He, like Vegeta, is obsessed with obtaining immortality and tries to fight against death. Wukong was offered to live in Heaven but as a low level guard and merely regarded as a monkey, much like how Vegeta was forcefully conscripted and disliked by many Frieza Force members and also called a monkey.

Eventually Wukong starts a rebellion and defeated the Jade Emperor's strongest forces, with Vegeta making his way up from Cui, to Zarbon and Dodoria and the Ginyu force, only stopping short at Frieza himself. While Vegeta is sent to hell but not dead long enough to make it there, Wukong is pinned under a mountain for 500 years. During this time, Wukongs monkey friends are not to be seen again and the Saiyans are eradicated, albeit much earlier in this analogy. Eventually Wukong meets his master, who teaches him to be a better and more selfless person. However, he must wear a tiara that will cause extreme pain if he misbehaves. This tiara reminded me of the one used by Paragus when Broly became too out of control. Still, Wukong is fairly ruthless. In one cartoon, he throws a baby off a cliff that was really a demon in disguise, much like how Vegeta will still not hesitate to eliminate any threats. His master takes it the wrong way and disowns him. But eventually the master learns Wukong was right when he is about to be eaten. Even though Vegeta is fighting on the side of the Z fighters now, he still is cocky and selfish, wanting to fight 18 and semi-perfect cell more to improve his own strength rather than save the world. And because he can still be ruthless, some of his allies are a bit skeptical of him such as during the SSG ritual and during the Frieza arc where he exhibited hostility towards Goku over fighting Frieza.

While his master can let his guard down a little too much, Wukong is always prepared to defend his master and his travel companions. Vegeta himself had some growing pains but eventfully reached a pure hearted state thanks to Goku's guidance. He relapses into his old ways again during the Buu arc, as he is frustrated with being 2nd to Goku. He tried to repent, but his actions are still not enough and he is sent to hell again. But promptly given a second chance.

During Vegeta's character arc he goes from seeking immortality, to all possible Saiyan power to a selfless person who achieves that power through love and care rather than his own self gain. Wukong went from immortality, to obtaining all the weapons and trophies of his enemies and great power to enlightenment. He could still be powerful and pure hearted at the same time. Vegeta always lusted for power but was always second to Goku, but eventually became his near equal after a change of heart, unlocking SSG, SSB until Goku unlocked UI.

With all that being said, it seems like Vegeta reflects the early life of Wukong, while Goku reflects Wukong after being freed. However, Goku is already pure hearted by the start and his great power comes from being a willing learner (from humans that are now considered weak, to Yardrats and Kin and fighting for a cause greater than his own self gain.
