| Posted: 11 Dec 2020 10:53 PM PST This is something that I usually agree with when it comes to ex-villain or anti-hero characters, but in Vegeta's case, I don't agree. Vegeta has lived a life of constant resentment and bitterness. He's been beaten within an inch of his life multiple times, was tortured by Frieza and then was killed himself. He has constantly been mocked and invalidated, and even when he sacrificed himself for the greater good, his sacrifice did nothing and only showed him how ineffectual he was. When he finally got a chance to kill Frieza and avenge his people, it was taken from him. He then had to come to terms with the fact that he will never be able to live up to his supposed destiny of being the most powerful Saiyan in the world. He constantly works himself to the bone in order to achieve something he was led to believe was his birthright, and still hasn't achieved it. Ultimately, Vegeta has received his comeuppance and then some. At this point, he has 'done his time' and I think he's done enough good to earn the happy life he has in Super. [link] [comments] |
