    The Importance of Goku's Super Saiyan Transformation

    This came to me as an epiphany. I really never thought about this until just now, and this made me utterly shocked.

    To people that recall the climactic moment when Goku first turned into a Super Saiyan, it's a memory that anyone would be able to recall in an instant. It's that iconic.

    But I want to ask you.

    Do you know what that moment made it so that Goku would actually turn into a Super Saiyan? Why was Krillin's death at this moment what made Goku erupt into a pure rage that he would become a Super Saiyan?

    I had to think about what Krillin's death meant. Was it because it was his second death? Could it be because Krillin could no longer be revived? That seemed like the most appropriate one, but then... as I thought deeper... I realized something incredibly shocking.

    Can anyone tell me if, in Goku's entire life, recall a time that Goku was there to witness the death of a friend?

    During Dragon Ball, did kid Goku ever see his friends die right in front of him?

    I tried to think and... the answer came as a shock to me.

    He didn't.

    Goku has never been witness to seeing a close friend and loved one die in front of him.

    Instead, Goku has always been occupied by another matter or is just rushing to the scene when his friends would be killed. But he would never actually be witness to the moment that his friends had died.

    Keep in mind that Vegeta at the time was not Goku's friend. They were both Saiyans, and he was a worthy opponent, but they never developed a close bond at the time. It's only later that they became friends.

    So taking that into account, that's why it becomes clear.

    Krillin's death at Freeza's hand triggered Goku's Super Saiyan transformation is not because it's Krillin's second death.

    It's because it's the first time that Goku ever witnessed his friend die right in front of him!

    Goku always believed, as well as his friends tend to do, that if Goku was there, he would be able to save and/or protect his friends from the danger. But this is the first time that Goku witnessed how powerless he was to prevent his best friend from being killed right in front of him.

    And that horror made Goku erupt into pure rage, finally crossing into becoming a Super Saiyan.

    I hope you enjoyed this revelation, cause it definitely shocked me.

    I'm also fond of Gohans new development of a scholar in Super.

    Energy eating villains (manga spoilers)

    Spoilers for the newest chapters of the Super manga below.

    So for a long time now we've been shown over and over that Moro eats energy to get stronger. It really reminds me of another villain that eats things to get stronger: Majin Buu. Wild wild theory here, but what if Buu turns Moro into candy and simply eats him? Could be an insane power buff for Buu, perhaps even returning him to the slim Buu form we saw before the ToP.

    Would that be too ironic for an energy eating villain to be defeated by an energy eating villain?

    EDIT: If Buu absorbed Moro he could also get those slick horns.

    Discussion of minor Cell Saga critique

    This is a very minor critique but im rewatching dbz abridged and I think vegeta and trunks should have taken a lesson to achieve "full power ssj" from Goku and gohan during their 2nd training in the hyperbolic time chamber and tried to sustain the super saiyan form in every day life. I don't remember if in the manga or anime if Goku/Gohan said that explicitly to vegeta or trunks but I think vegeta is smart enough to have realize his folly and attempt similiar training once seeing how powerful the two came out compared to him and trunks

    What is your favorite DBZ video game of all time and why?

    Mine is Budokai 2. I guess mainly due to nostalgic purposes but I mean the story mode is still fun. You pretty much play as anyone in the storymode and the villains will still react to your character. I always liked that about the story mode. It also is a game that actually feels like DBZ. What game is your favorite and why?

    Ok so i was reading latest chapter and it got me thinking about ultra instinct, i see a lot of arguments on whether its a form or a technique.

    I think its a technique, but functions as a form because Gokus body treats it as such. Like the principles of ultra instinct is to do, not think. Like its more of a philosophy and way of movement, so why the power boost?

    I think its because when Goku fully gives up concious control, his body fully optimises the god ki inside of him (confirmed in recent chapters it uses god ki) so because Goku has so much power inside him, him utilising the philosophy of ultra instinct causes him to take on a new physical form where his body is making the most of the energy he has.
