Like I get that his face is supposed to be 1/2 Goku and 1/2 Vegeta, but I feel like it doesn't really apply to his base form. To me he looks more like a fusion of Vegeta and Gohan, especially in the Broly movie. As for his non-canon appearances, the 1/2 and 1/2 thing is there in Fusion Reborn but if you take away the bang it's mostly just Vegeta, while in GT he's basically a recolored SSJ4 Goku. Vegito's features are much more of a blend of the two imo.

Yes, there's the advanced science and the interesting magic and even the fact that gods exist, but there's also the constant threat of danger and the fact that your universe and/or planet could be destroyed any minute. The fact that people on Earth are oblivious to any of the dangerous potentially catastrophic stuff that goes on that could kill every single one of them is only the tip of the horror.
