    What if Gohan defeated Majin Buu himself instead of Goku?

    What if Gohan came out as the hero that saved the day in the end like everyone wanted and decided to never slack off his training ever again?

    We know that never would have happened and that Goku was going to be the one that ended up saving the day because he is Goku, but it's fun to think if the Majin Buu Saga ended in a different way.

    What(if any) dragon ball moments made you cry?

    If you don't want to read my blabber on about one of my favourite moments from db then just skip lmao. It's not that much reading tho

    Now I understand not everyone is like me and cry at everything (even tho I don't really). But I have two moments that brought a tears to my eyes when watching db. The moment when goku finds out he was fighting grandpa gohan and when future gohan dies. Ima focus more on gohan's death because I like it. The reason this made me cry is because of trunks and his reaction to this event. Even though it wasn't the best relationship building in db, when gohan died I really felt for trunks. Gohan was one of his only friends,his only father figure and basically his only hope in life. He was basically trunk's reason to keep going.To see that stripped away from him,while he is blaming himself for not being strong enough for gohan to trust him actually made me cry. I can and many others relate with him on a personal level. How it feels to lose your only light in life and how hard it is to not just give up. Obviously I would assume not many had it as bad as trunks lmao. But because not everyone's life is perfect you are able to imagine yourself in that scenario and how horrible it would feel.

    This is sort of an excuse to talk about one of my favourite moments from db but I'm also curious to see if any others felt the same watching other parts of the show.

    My theory: Vegeta combined SS Blue with his "Super Vegeta" training from Cell Saga during his "Beyond Blue" moment

    I remember a lot of people were like "omg what is this form he's doing?! Let's theorize!" when to me it was always really blatantly obvious. He's just doing his power buff from Cell Saga and doing a Super Vegeta while using Blue form. His physical appearance is virtually a copycat of when he nicknamed himself "Super Vegeta" against Cell. That's why his strength is shocking to the onlookers who don't expect him to imitate such an old technique? I don't know, but it's pretty obvious it's basically Super Blue Vegeta and it's just really weird to me literally no one makes the brazenly obvious connection that Vegeta just wits up using a power buff he canonically already is aware of.

    Goku's characterization in Dragon Ball Super is off and makes his character worse

    Before people say I watched the Eng Dub and it made Goku a hero..I didn't, I watched the whole series with the original Jap VA's.

    Anyway there is still a clear difference between Goku in DBS and DBZ. Hell even Goku from the original series when he was a kid was far more serious in the last two arcs than Goku in DBS.

    Goku always took things seriously and didn't act like a dumb child who doesn't understand what's going on. Just compare his behaviour in the Future Trunks arc with the Cell arc to see the difference. He seems to care about nothing but fighting in Super

    He lost any maturity he had in DBZ. One example that shows this is when Gohan says to him that Videl is pregnant and he asks about food like a complete moron. Or when he doesn't know what kissing is..

    Its no surprise that even the characters treat him differently, in DBZ Goku was basically revered by the others and even Vegeta saw him as a serious rival. In DBS everyone acts like Goku is a fool who needs to be handled differently

    Future Trunks Trains on Yardrat to Save The Future (original story)

    Future Trunks travels to Yardrat (full story)

    Note: in this turn of events, shortly after Gohan's death, bulma fails to create the time machine and resorts to another tactic.

    The year is 782, Bulma is losing faith in her ability to create a time machine. She finally gets some rest after an all-nighter and has a dream where her next plan to save humanity appears. She remembers that she knows exactly where goku landed from yardrat, as she was going to send trunks there in the past. She wakes up and demands trunks go to that location, to pick up the ginyu force pod and bring it back if it's still around. Trunks asked why and to his surprise bulma's response quickly convinced him to follow through on her plan. "When Frieza attacked earth almost two decades ago, Goku was in space but arrived using this technique he called instant transmission. He can sense a life force and instantly show up there, with that power Trunks, you can sense where new namek is and instantly be able to revive everybody who was killed by the androids!" Trunks instantly starts smiling "you mean... we can bring back gohan and I can finally meet my father?!" Trunks, with Bulma's coordinates, flies to the area where Goku's pod landed many years ago. Since this was a random wasteland, the androids never bothered to blow up this area. Trunks lifts it up and flies to capsule Corp. Bulma, being a genius was quickly able to see the ship's travel history, and got coordinates to planet yardrat, she was even able to simply controls to help trunks on his journey. She didn't bother with New Namek's coordinates, as the planet was presumably in another part of space. Trunks has all of his gear and knowledge ready, as he hugs his mother as she gives him words of encouragement. He can finally have a chance at saving everyone, he sits in the ship and presses the button to start the flight. Bulma smiles as she knows there's still hope. A few days later, Trunks lands on planet Yardrat. The Yardratians are very welcoming, as they are aware of events that occur in space, they know Trunks is here for a good reason. Trunks is greeted by Pybara, the Yardratian elder who taught Goku the instantaneous movement. "I can sense a terrible evil coming from your world" says Pybara. With spirit control, yardratians can sense beings far out in space, he senses the billions of lives lost on planet earth and is willing to help trunks. Trunks confirms and states that after Goku killed Frieza, he met his end to a radical heart virus, and soon after the earth would fall to evil. Pybara had a great respect and friendship with Goku, after all, Goku was the one who defeated the ginyu force and frieza. With all of the good things Goku's done for the planet Yardrat, he tells trunks he would love to train him in the ways of spirit control. Trunks is glad but asks what spirit control does. He's told that spirit control, on top of being a massive power boost, grant's abilities that enable immense ki control capable of granting abilities such as instantaneous movement, healing, and cloning. Trunks gets glee as he realizes he can grow strong enough to kill the androids and be able to travel to New Namek.

    Many months go by, Trunks' power is overwhelming compared to before. Trunks' spent over one and a half years on Yardrat, a prodigy with a thirst for justice, he made huge gains in strength and skill. Having mastered instantaneous movement, forced spirit fission, and healing, Trunks graciously thanks the yardratian's for helping him reach a level he thought wouldn't be possible. Given a new yardratian outfit by Pybara, Trunks grins as he senses New Namek due to his spiritual control.

    Trunks teleports to the beacon of hope and startles the natives. "Are you friend or foe?" asks Elder Mori. "My name is Trunks, I'm friends with the group of warriors that helped save the universe from Frieza many years ago". The Namekians all smile as they realize Trunks is a good person who's affiliated with Goku. Mori asks Trunks about the evil that has been dominating earth, Trunks explains the whole story. As he finishes telling the tale of the demise of Goku's son, Dende speaks up. "Gohan... he was my friend... we'd love to help you!". Trunks smiles and is then told by elder Mori that they have upgraded the dragon balls, and are able to resurrect everyone who had been killed by the Androids. Porunga is summoned, Trunks is amazed as he had never seen the Dragon Balls in effect before. Dende wishes back all of those on earth killed by the androids. "Your wish has been granted" Porunga says as his eyes glow red. Trunks drops to his knees in happiness, he realizes that he has completed half of his mission. He thanks Mori and tells him that no more wishes are needed as now his own set of dragon balls work. Meanwhile on Earth, 9 miles south west of south city. The small island once filled with life has been annihilated for many years, and has since been overgrown with trees and wildlife. Billions of humans get up, thinking that their death was a dream. Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Tien and everyone else had been revived as well. However, since goku died of the heart virus, a natural cause, he had not returned. The Z-fighters, all near each other fly up and greet each other. All confused as to how they've been resurrected, as they have been used to the after life. They all smile and hug besides vegeta and piccolo who just stare. Vegeta clenches a fist and turns super saiyan, he's angry and yells out that he will find a way to get revenge on the mechanical threat. Piccolo tells Vegeta that it's unwise as Vegeta barely held his own against 17 before his death. Krillin questions who could've possibly wished to revive them, as piccolo had died in the battle.

    Hundreds of miles away, gohan wakes up and is happy beyond words. He knows somehow trunks found a way to save everyone. He senses several high power levels and flies towards the other z-fighters. The Z-fighters sense a power similar to Vegeta's flying towards them. "Goku!?" Piccolo yells out as he sees a powerful, older gohan in Goku's colors flying towards them. As he approaches piccolo and company realizes it's not Goku, it's Son Gohan! Everyone is shocked as they were all used to a younger Gohan. Gohan starts to tear up as he finally sees his friends after nearly 20 years. "P-piccolo...Krillin..." he says as he flies and gives them a huge hug. Everyone is in disbelief that they returned to their lives. "So were you the one who defeated the androids?" Vegeta asked Gohan in a cocky tone. "No." Gohan told Vegeta "Your son Trunks is the only way that this could've happened, I died as well" he told Vegeta. Vegeta gasps only to make a smirk "Of Course my son would avenge us" he's secretly happy that Goku didn't show him up this time. As the good times are starting, terror strikes once more. Krillin with a fearful expression stares at the sky as he sees the androids. Android 17 looks down at them and says "look, it's the guys we killed 18 years ago". Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo get furious and begin to power up. Vegeta yells out "This time you puppets will be sent into oblivion!" Vegeta fires a Big Bang attack, only to have 17 deflect it. "I guess I can fit killing you again into my schedule" 17 arrogantly says as he fires a phantom flash at Vegeta. Gohan and the rest have flashbacks of the initial battle with the androids "Where did Trunks go?..." Gohan uttered. Out of nowhere, Trunks instant transmissions in front of Vegeta and deflects the attack. "This is where it ends!" Trunks yells out as he Powers up into super saiyan and everyone around him is shocked. Trunks' powers have increased so much due to his spirit control training, that nobody can comprehend his strength. Vegeta is happy yet angry, he's happy his son is so powerful but he's pissed that the gap is so wide. Trunks teleports in front of Android 17 and rips a hole through him. As 17 stares helplessly, Trunks annihilates him with a yellow energy blast. 18 is trembling with fear, her more powerful twin brother was wiped out in two blows, she tries to escape but Trunks uses instant transmission to appear before her and sucker punches her into the ground. "This is for everyone you killed, your evil has finally come to an end!" Trunks yelled out as he sent an energy wave into 18's body and vaporized her. Gohan notes this was very similar to when his father previously instant transmissioned and quickly wiped out Frieza and King Cold, he's even wearing the same outfit. Trunks reverts to base form with feelings of jubilation, it's finally over.

    He turns around and sees his father for the first time, he has no words as Vegeta smirks and says "well done, kid". Everyone flies near them and congratulates Trunks for saving earth. Gohan and Trunks get emotional as they can finally have a chance at a normal life. Trunks is seen as a hero by the world, viewed similar to how Mr. Satan was in the main timeline. The gang regroups at capsule Corp, an aged bulma cries as her friends have all come back to life due to Trunks' mission. The Z-fighters discuss the elephant in the room and talk about Goku. Kami is happy to help, he upgrades Shenron's powers to be able to revive someone who's already been revived before. As well as allowing revives for someone who died from a poison or illness, the logic being that Goku's heart virus wasn't a natural death since it was a foreign entity that invaded his heart in the first place. Goku is revived in his bedroom, where he initially passed from the heart virus. He's confused, he's been dead for so long yet somehow he's come back. He steps into his living room to see an aged and depressed ChiChi. Chichi drops her mug as her eyes sparkle like the shiniest pearl. She hugs Goku and tells him how much she missed him. Goku smiles as he's still unaware about what happened, but tells her it's gonna be okay. He asked what's going on and she told him about the Android threat. Goku senses several high power levels and instant transmissions over to the lookout. Everyone reacts similar to when Goku got the one day pass, except Gohan and Bulma. They lived almost two decades in fear without Goku, they embrace him with such a tight hug that Goku goes purple. Goku says "Gohan... you're giant!" Gohan says "dad, it's been so hard without you..." Goku tells everyone he heard about the Android threat and looks at Vegeta "are you the one who took them down?" "No Kakarot. My son, Trunks avenged the saiyan race and wiped out those washing machines" Goku is surprised and looks at Trunks. "Wow! So you went to Yardrat, that explains why you're so powerful!" Goku said. Trunks smiles and tells Goku "Thanks to your old ship, I was able to go to their world for help". "Well I definitely wanna fight you! I wanna see what you're made of!" Goku challenged Trunks in a cheerful way. The fight is short, Goku's no match for Trunks as of now. "Wow! To think there's someone in this universe who's so strong! You're definitely Vegeta's son! I wanna fight you again!" Trunks agrees and Vegeta exclaims "Don't forget Kakarot, I'm the one who's going to defeat you!" "It's been a long time since we've fought seriously, huh?" Goku says as they both transform into super saiyans and clash fists. With the earth saved, the Z-fighters can finally return to their lives. Those who survived all this time are reunited with their friends and family. Due to his son surpassing him, Vegeta sticks around and trains with him as he views him as worthy adversary. One year later, bulma uses shenron to make herself 5 years younger. Enough to make her look younger, but not so much that people can tell she had work done. As of now there's finally peace.
