    Why is Goku viewed as the Villain in the tournament of power?

    The Great Priest made it clear that Zeno was already going to eliminate those universes to begin with, during the Zeno tournament of 7 and 9. All the tournament of power was going to do was allow one Universe to escape that fate. This was announced in front of all of the Kai and GoD. So one more universe was going to be allowed to live that originally planned. But everyone at the Zeno battle with universe 9 made it seem like BECAUSE of Goku, they were now going to be eliminated, after Bergamo speech.

    Episode 80, Near the end, The Great Priest said Zeno already said there were too many universes. Yes, this present the opportunity, but they were being given the chance to be saved rather than being obliterated without a chance. Whis clarifies these universes were already on the chopping block, and the tournament was to give one of them a chance to survive.

    In Episode 85, Vados reminds the other GoD that Goku is the reason they have a chance to survive else they would all already be wiped out.

    What is the behind the scenes reasons for the drastic changes from Dragon Ball to DBZ?

    Dragon Ball started off as a comedic story that was basically an adaptation of Journey to the West and focused on martial arts. Then the series changes in Dragon Ball Z about a bunch of aliens with superpowers fighting other aliens and the tone is much more serious.

    Is there background info on why Toriyama made this drastic change for the series?

    Which is better first?

    So I am a big dbz fan and I have been watching a lot of dbz lately. One thing everyone knows is that dbz has two tracks: american and japanese. But here's the thing: I love both. I watched the first three sagas, (expect ginyu which I watched in faulconer,) in japanese score, and then switched to faulconer for the majority of the cell arc. Now I am pretty divided. Since the buu saga has some pretty awesome soundtracks. Now I am thinking about mixing things up a bit. A bit of japanese here and american there. But there's a slight issue: Goku vs vegeta, and goku vs buu. These fights are the ultimate ones. But then both the og and american versions have great music. Faulconer has good fight music in G vs V, but kinikuchi has some nice ones too. So, I wanna watch them both. But I have to watch one first. Same goes for buu. Love the ss3 rocking end. But also want the calm peaceful end in the og dub. But which one first. I really cant choose since if I watch the wrong one first it will spoil the fun. Please help. Thanks.

    Did anyone else have a similar experience watching DBZ?

    I caught some episodes of DBZ on T.V. around 2000-2001, when I was around 6-7/8. But I didn't regularly start watching until Early-mid 2002 when I was 8. This was when they were airing reruns of the Saiyan-Frieza sagas, which I watched up until right before Goku completed the Spirit Bomb. As the same time I collected the Buu saga tapes as that was the current saga that was airing. Then around the latter part of 2002 I started watching the Cell saga through renting (and occasionally buying) VHS tapes and even some DVDs. And this was around the time the Fusion saga started airing on Toonami, which I watched on TV.

    Then 2003 came, and I was basically continuing to watch the Cell and Buu saga simultaneously. And I actually think I finished watching the Buu saga before I finished watching the Cell saga. Also, there were some episodes that I had skipped during this time (like most of the SSJ Goku vs Frieza, SSJ2 Gohan vs Cell Jr.'s, etc.) that I would see later. Like I don't think I even completed the Goku vs Frieza fight until a few years later.

    So my initial viewing of the series was a bit out of order. I was wondering if anyone had a similar/unusual viewing of the show.

    NOTE: For anyone who actually did watch the show in proper order, please do NOT comment on this thread. Nothing bothers me more than when I ask a question targeted towards a specific group of people, and some smart aleck posts something like "Nah, I watched DBZ in order from beginning to end on Toonami." or "Nope I pretty much watched it in order.". So please, if this is you don't bother posting on here, because this question is not meant for you. This question is meant for people who watched the show out of order or at least had an unusual experience watching the show.

    Destroying Zamasu's Potara?

    Could Goku and Vegeta have destroyed the Potara Earring that Zamasu was using? Zamasu is immortal, but that doesn't mean the Potara Earring that he uses is also indestructible. That would prevent Merged Zamasu from happening... Ofc Zamasu might catch on to what's going on, but he's slower than Goku and Vegeta.

    Like I like Dragon Ball, but the thing that really I dislike about the show is the fact that deaths are kind of meaningless like sometimes I see characters that died in such ways they were pretty good for them to go out but they bring them back to life it made their whole death or sacrifice meaningless like why can't they just stay dead by bring them back to life they start becoming irrelevant and it becomes too many characters.
