[Gohan Destroys Universe 10] - My take on Gohan vs Omni | Feedback Welcome

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:54 PM PDT

A saiyan who increases power through meditation and mindfulness.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:34 AM PDT

    Kinda like Piccolo, but different.

Would that be something logically possible in-universe?

A saiyan who is quiet, reserved, unemotional and very aware and in-tune with their surroundings.

Obviously, being less likely to engage in unnecessary battles wouldn't be great for trying to raise power levels.

Instead of looking outwards for strength, they look inward.

Once they do decide it appropriate for battle there's no talking or warming up, the only thing on their mind is that battle and it will end in death for either side.

With most saiyans anger is a big part of who they are. Anger can also weigh one down mentally at the worst possible time. No anger, no sadness, no doubt in what will happen will.

    Can I get some feedback?

Edit: Ooo I can see them having an epic fight w Berserker Broly where Broly just continuously builds rage from being ineffective against an opponent who doesn't even seem to be trying.

Why is the 90s Z style universally better?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:39 AM PDT

I keep seeing 90s Z style edits of Super, Heroes, OVA 2 & 3 etc. and it's ALWAYS better than the Super style, even better than the manga. I bet some of you are chalking it up to "nostalgia" but the thing is that i was never into DB, it was just something in the background i *very* occasionally watched and didn't understand due to never catching it on the right time as a kid, it's not something i grew up with, i only started watching this year, so it's not nostalgia.

The rough felt rougher, the happy felt happier, the sad felt sadder, the cool felt cooler.

Rewatched DB GT Baby Saga after 20 years.

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 12:37 PM PDT

This Saga is a lot better than i even remembered (never hated it in the first place).

    Things i enjoyed:
1- Everyone had some time to shine, including Goten and Pan
2- Fighting amongst familly and friends (Goku being forced to fight his two sons, Gohan forced to fight his brother, even Videl and Gohan vs Pan a little bit)
3- Baby actually had a reason to be angry, a motivation which the Z villians really lacked (even Frieza, eventhough i love the guy but he is just "I wanna rule the universe, i fear (Super) Saiyans will prevent me from achieving it so i murder them", Baby actually wanted his planet back and take over the universe to restore his race)
4- Baby's transformations were great (apart from the big shoulderpad one after he took over Vegeta's body, but his final form was great)
5- Many nods to the original Dragon Ball and the Vegeta and Goku fight in the Saiyan Saga
6- Baby was an actual scumbag by constantly cheating, fighting dirty and being a massive baby about a minor setback, it was so fun seeing a villian just cheating his way to victory like an ass
7- When Baby lost his "humanity" due to his rage and childish tantrum that was great character progression to me, it showed how desperate he was in winning and getting his planet back
8- Uub purposefully turning himself into chocolate to fight Baby inside (eventhough i get the feeling this wasn't the creators true intent until that very episode where they realized they needed something to stall time with lol)
9- Vegeta didn't care about his planet returning or not whereas Baby desperatly wanted his planet to return, the fact he took over Vegeta is great for this reason, they counter eachother in their wants and needs, they both lost their planet, both are angry but whereas Vegeta didn't care anymore Baby still cared a lot about his own planet
10- Golden Great Apes are great
11- Super Saiyan 4 is amazing

Baby has become one of my favourite villians in Dragon Ball, canon or filler or non-canon or not its still Dragon Ball and its a great villian.
My only complaint though is that GT needs to ease off the Ki Blast spamming... there's not much physical battles but more Ki blasts and thats kinda lame... luckily it wasn't so bad in the final two fights against Baby.

    Custom Technique Naming issue

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:03 PM PDT

So i'm designing an OC and wanted to ask about a technique name. What would be the proper way to name an attack that consists of combining a Final Shine Attack from both hands into one beam? I just used Twin Final Shine Attack as a placeholder but I feel like it could have a far more badass name like SSB Gogeta's attack names. If it helps, he'll be using it in SSB form primarily.

Is moro's ball attac just an unwilling spirit bomb?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 10:00 AM PDT

I was reading the Moro arc this week and the way his big attack (idk the name) works makes it seem exactly like the spirit bomb just not dependent on if you're good or evil/ willing to give energy is this right?

On the Majin Vegeta vs Buu fight and Goku interference

    Posted: 02 Sep 2021 06:26 PM PDT

    Hello everyone, good evening

I had this question the whole day on my mind and had to ask everyone's opinion. Some background: home office made me lunch deputy for my daughter. She's still 2, so obviously I feed her, and she only eats if watching cartoons. So, since I found out she liked specifically watching the Vegetto vs Super Buu fight (go figures), I'm rewatching the Buu saga with her.

Mixed results on catching her attention, but I just got again to the Vegeta useless sacrifice (surprising how I still get emotional) and I stopped to think: what if Vegeta wasn't deadset on dying to make things right? What if he just accepted Goku to teleport him to where Buu was?

I don't think it is a given that Goku would go SSJ3, unless they had their backs against the wall. I also don't think Goku would retreat. Of course, he chose not to headbutt with Buu until he had to, but one thing is not to chase a fight, the other is to flee from the battlefield. Would Goten and Trunks joining the battle enough reason for Goku to push pride aside and go SSJ3? I'm sure Vegeta would not turn against them at that point, even by seeing SSJ3, and I think SSJ3 Goku with Majin Vegeta could actually kill Buu (could, not would).
