Which Super Saiyan Blue Color do you like best, from the Anime or Broly Movie? The Anime look more like a turquoise color in my opinion.

If you hate High School/Great Saiyaman Gohan and don't care for ToP and Moro arc Gohan, are you even a Gohan fan? Do you even like the character?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 03:11 PM PST

Just something that I've been thinking.

One of the most common things you will hear about Gohan in the western fanbase is "he wasted his potential" "he became a family man uggghhh" "he used to be so cool when he fought Cell what happened to my boy?"

And i'm like, okay, sure, he slacked off on training and fighting, but we all know that was because the Earth was at peace.

Here is the thing: Gohan does not fight as a hobby like Goku or Vegeta, he fights as a necessity.

Throughout the entirety of the Saiyan, Namek, and Android arcs, the Earth was at peril and Gohan was always needed to be at the battlefield to save his friends and family. We never get to see Gohan in a life that isn't revolving around battle or danger. You might say "what about those three years before the androids? No way would Toriyama give us something like Gohan going to school or going on an adventure during this time, it would throw off all the tension. The Buu arc was the perfect opportunity, and we were displayed it. We were shown Gohan's ignorance to the norms of high-school. We were shown that Gohan is a nerd, he thinks geeky things like playing superhero is cool! That's who he is! That's what makes him unique and interesting! Fans keep on talking "BUT HIS FIGHT AGAINST CELL! BUT HIS FIGHT AGAINST BOJACK! I MISS THIS GOHAN" when in those situations Gohan is just purely in rage. Any character could fit that role of being in rage if they were strong enough. That isn't exclusive to Gohan. It's like this is what all these Gohan "fans" want from him. Just to get mad and start killing people and be edgy.

In the movie and arc of Resurrection 'F' I will admit myself, it was kind of sad seeing how disrespected Gohan was, that is undeniable. In-character? Yes. Satisfactory, no.

But then the tournament of power comes and we get some epic battles of Gohan in the anime. We get Gohan vs Obuni, Gohan vs the robots, Gohan vs Dyspo, and my favorite Gohan fight of the arc, Gohan vs the Namekians. A phenomenal episode that was. Even in the manga we briefly see Gohan fight Kefla and they each knock each other out. It wasn't a spectacle but it still showed his immense growth in strength. In the recruitment arc prior to the tournament, Gohan regains his strength fighting Piccolo. Here Gohan learns from his mistakes from his fight against Cell and Buu, that cockiness is his primary weakness and flaw. Gohan learns to overcome this and become even stronger than ever. This is literally character development! We then get an absolutely crazy fight with Gohan vs Goku. This of course then leads to Gohan's Ws in the tournament. In the Moro arc, Gohan has an epic clash against 73 with some fantastic panels. He's the coolest fighter there other than Goku/Vegeta. But some Gohan "fans" don't acknowledge these feats from Gohan in Super. It's even more hilarious to me that there are people out there that actually believe that Gohan in DBS is weaker than "muh tEeN GoHaN" from the Cell Games.

Going back to Z, I rarely ever see Gohan from Saiyan and Namek arc getting recognition as well. He fought Vegeta 1:1, tossed back the spirit bomb, crushed Vegeta as an oozaru, saved Dende on Namek, fought the Ginyu Force, helped secure the Dragon Balls, and battled Freeza 1:1 as well. Many Gohan "fans" consider him as a crybaby at this time, and yes, I've seen many people call him this at this stage.

I hope I didn't come off as rude or anything. Gohan's always been my favorite character, so it's just a little frustrating to see people not acknowledge Gohan other than his fight against Cell, Bojack, and maaaaybe Super Buu, and only want to expect Gohan to be this edgy rage-filled character every time he fights someone.

Do you agree or disagree with me? Lmk

    Addressing Vegeta's scars post

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 05:36 PM PST

There's an active post found here regarding Vegeta's scars and why they seem to disappear between the two scenes that were depicted, and I wanted to address two of the common reasons that individuals mention as to why they may have disappeared.

For starters, I also want to point out that they are indeed scars, not veins, as we see, in the Full Color manga pages of Vegeta's training, that they are colored differently than his veins, and consistent with how the scars on Tenshinhan and Yamcha are colored.

    [1] [2] [3]

    Tenshinhan and Yamcha for reference.

Furthermore, the scars are also missing in the manga as well, so this is not an anime issue.

Now, on to the two particular reasons that people have been giving.

Senzu / Dende / Other Healing Means

If we use Yamcha and Tenshinhan as evidence, we know that the senzu cannot heal scars, as Yamcha and Tenshinhan are both shown with their scars still after having recovered with senzu. Scars are already healed tissue, and it just looks different from normal tissue because of how the tissue aligns in scar tissue vs normal tissue.

    Revival

Vegeta's not died in between the two moments. When we first see the scars, it's prior to the arrival of #19 and Gero, as it's during Vegeta's 300g training in preparation for them (or, as far as the OP in the other topic, when Vegeta's obtaining the Badman shirt). When we later see him without the scars, it's during his preparation for the 25th Budoukai with Trunks. Vegeta's two deaths bookend those two moments (his first death predates the 300g training, and his second death comes after his preparation for the Budoukai). As such, he hadn't been killed, so it wouldn't be a situation of him getting a new body that was free of scars.

If there was one DBZ game you could make someone play, which one would it be?

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 05:08 PM PST

I watched the show when I was a kid and recently I've been watching it again. I wanted to buy a DBZ game for my PS4 and I realised there are a lot of them available. People commonly say that FighterZ is the best. I've seen that some games have a 2D fighter combat system and some have 3rd person combat. I've seen some videos and I like the 3rd person combat system in a DBZ game but only if it doesn't get boring. I am a single player gamer so I don't play online much and I am looking for replayability. Any advice will be appreciated

    A Highly Recommended DBZ Fan-Fic

    Posted: 11 Nov 2021 09:41 AM PST

For anyone who's interested, here's a DBZ fan-fic I highly recommend, "Inner Darkness" by NickMoline4 on wattpad. Babidi is about to possess Vegeta, but then he senses Gohan's inner rage and trauma brought on by Goku's death and being exposed to fighting and violence in early childhood (Nappa, Frieza, Cell, etc.).

It's a long read (15 chapters), but an excellent one!
