    Gohan being weak didn’t weaken him or his character

    I'm in the minority when I say I didn't mind the great saiyaman and end of Z gohan ( though what they did to him in the start of super was an atrocity ) just for the simple fact I can't blame gohan for not having any desire or intentions to train or fight for that matter. Which is also why I think toriyama not making him the mc and not having him beat buu was good for his character and development. Let's take a look at gohans life shall we.

    At just 4 years old he is kidnapped by his evil uncle who threatens to kill him and gets his father killed, he is then kidnapped by this green stranger who tried to murder his father and his fathers friends He also has only been told terrible stories about the man. He is then forced to live in the woods seemingly alone, and forced to thrive on his own for survival for a full year. Then at just 5 he is forced to fight to 2 aliens who have committed mass genocide and plan to kill him and his friends. He watches 4 of his friends die including piccolo who was like a 2nd father to him. Mind you gohan at this point is 5 years old. He then goes to namek where he fights the ginyu force he nearly dies and gets his neck snapped. He then fights Freiza and watches as krillin gets impaled, dende is murdered , vegeta is murdered, krillin is murdered, piccolo is almost murdered, and gohan himslef almost dies. He then is teleported to earth where vegeta beats the living shit out of him just for standing up for his fathers name. Again he's only 5 at this point. Then We go to the android arc where he's forced to train for 3 years in preparation for the andorids. He is then forced to fight the ultimate evil android cell someone who his own dad couldn't beat. His father dies due to his own negligence, he watches as trunks dies, and again he himself nearly dies. Mind you all this at just 11 years old.

    Can you blame the kid for not liking to fight or train? All fighting has did for him is bring pain either physical or mentally. This is why during the 7 year timeskip to the buu arc gohan doesn't train as it's the first time he ever really had control over his own life. There were no threats, no upcoming threats, so he did what made him happy which wasn't training but just being a normal high-school kid. Which I thought was good development for his character. I mean he even outright told cell he doesn't like fighting or killing people for that matter. I just don't get why people think him being normal means he isn't cool anymore.

    Piccolo & Pan - DBS Super Hero by Me

    Just got the first 3 volumes of the DBZ manga, it's pretty good but at some points its obvious that some things were translated poorly and didn't make sense. Two of the examples for me being King Kai's jokes, and Piccolo saying "Light of Death" instead of Makankosappo or Special Beam Cannon

    I rewatched the entire Dragon Ball, Z, Super, and GT series during the pandemic and I realized how vastly different Dragon Ball was compared to its sequels. I can't help but feel a bit sad that the adventure portion was dropped when it came time for Z and Super. It all became about fighting, not that I'm complaining cause I loved that too but I miss the simple adventures Goku had and him just going from place to place to become stronger. It's something they kind of brought back in super and tried to in GT, they just shouldn't have made Goku a kid again. I guess what I miss the most are the World Martial Arts tournaments where characters went against each other to have a good time and not have impossible stakes. I would have loved to see Goku and Vegeta graduating from Whis' training and exploring the multiverse to learn more while others like Piccolo, Tien, and Krillin actually working to catch up themselves and innovating ways to close the gap and everyone meeting up again for a match without the use of transformations.

    I just rewatched the scene where Frieza begs Goku for mercy. I know it ends up backfiring but I have so much respect for Goku sticking to morals in spite of how much he hates Frieza.

    I mean because I firmly believe in having a consistent morality even if it's hard to follow. Goku believes everyone can be reformed, and he stuck to that with Frieza even though he probably shouldn't have.

    What if Goku defeated frieza before Namek Exploded and escaped and went back to the earth so does that mean that the instant transmission wouldn't exists? If so then the scenario in the cell games saga were Goku had to save the earth from Cell exploding

    Do Namekians sleep?

    Given they don't have to eat, I wondered if they don't have to sleep either. Piccolo doesn't seem to have a home, and him just chilling out in wastelands all day seems to make more sense if he never has to rest; he's also shown not sleeping when the humans/Saiyans are, such as when they're waiting at Kame House for the Androids to show up. Plus, Namek is permanently in day-time, and I don't remember any of the other Namekians sleeping either.

    If I'm being honest, I would add Super Saiyan 5 into the story. You could put any random Dragon Ball-related shit into Heroes and fans will EAT. THAT. SHIT. UP. So go wild, I guess. There are no limits as to what you can add; you could even add fan made stuff like a Dragon Ball AF or Multiverse crossover.

    Raditz really should have just taken Gohan when he saw Kakarot lost his tail. Kakarot was worthless at that point for what they wanted to do any way and far to weak.

    Gohan had the the ball so Goku couldn't just wish him back, and they still could have gone to Namek to try and get him back not knowing what planet Raditz was going to.

    Raditz does kill Piccolo on his way out making Earth's balls worthless? Same outcome having to go to Namek to get Gohan back/making sure the wishes don't fall into the wrong hands.

    Frieza would have still known of the DB wishes via scouter because Gohan would have said "don't worry dad will wish me back" and Raditz grabs his hat and said "you mean with this?", or something along those lines.

    Thoughts?
