    It's a Turn-Based RPG. Think about it:

    -Fighters take turns to do special attacks

    -Fetch quests in the form of dragon balls

    -Recruit enemies they beat.

    -Characters get skills later on in the game that make items redundant or pointless (Power Pole, Flying Nimbus, Trunks' OG Sword)

    The final boss ALWAYS has a second phase.

    It's Dragon Quest, but cut-scenes only.

    A Question About Yamcha

    So I recently started reading Dragon Ball (currently on chapter 125) and I've always heard jokes about Yamcha and I didn't understand them. Now that I'm this far in, is Yamcha a meme? Is he destined to just get his ass beat all the time? Does he ever do anything or is he just meant to show how strong the enemy is when they inevitably beat that ass? Poor fella.

    Dragon Ball 'Abridged' guide for new viewer?

    Hey, my friend agreed to start DBZ, but like me, wants to start from the beginning so he can better appreciate Goku as a character and the story as a whole

    I suggested he can watch the whole thing if he ends up enjoying it, but he is mainly looking to watch DBZ, and Dragonball is pretty long

    What would you recommend he watches of Dragonball before starting Z? My initial suggestions were Emperor Pilaf + World Tournament Sagas, and then skipping ahead to either the Tournament where he meets Tien, or straight to King Piccolo, but I'm curious to hear what you guys think and recommend for a first time viewer
