Goku SSG Evolved. I wasn't a big fan of SSB, but I really liked the red of SSG, so I combined the general hairstyle of SSB with the colors of SSG (first post)

Something Underappreciated in Dragon Ball universe

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:59 AM PDT

Last night I was thinking for hours how amazing the Aesthetics are in Dragon Ball, the particular point I got in my mind was from the Majin Boo Saga.

In the Majin Boo saga you have an ancient evil wizard and an ancient monster, who are also aliens travelling with a super fast alien spaceship.Yet they do not feel out of place,Toriyama's aesthetics mixed the Sci-Fi with Fantasy so damn perfectly that they totally look like both aliens and ancient fantasy beings,

And thinking back this applies to the whole world of dragon ball, you got Martial Artists with traditional fighting outfits in a world with aliens cyborgs and space adventures, but at the same time you have wizards and demon kings and dinasaurs, yet they all feel like the come from the same place.

When and how do you think Super Saiyan Blue should had made it's first appearance?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 07:59 AM PDT

So in Battle of Gods we got introduced to Super Saiyan God. This form that could only be obtained through a ritual with 6 Saiyans. A form that surpassed SS3 and allowed Goku to hold his own against Beerus. But unfortunately before the form could establish anything Resurrection of F happened and now SSB has just become the norm. A form that had no really build up or explanation. The whole thing felt like it happened way to quick. Be like if Goku or Vegeta went straight to SS2 against the androids.

If you could rewrite it how would you handle in introductions of God and Blue? How much should they had been used? Do you think one shouldn't had happen in the first place?

Limit Breaking: Breaking through your Ceiling.

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 06:18 PM PDT

Limit breaking bugs me. If you can break it, then it wasn't your limit. The actual maximum that you can do is your limit. Ultra Instinct is Goku's actual limit in the Tournament. Super Saiyan Blue Evolved is Vegeta's actual limit in the Tournament. You don't push past your limits, however far you push, thats your limit even if its farther than you've ever pushed before. You may be pushing past something that was previously a limit but obviously its not your limit now because if it was a limit, you wouldn't be able to go past it. That's how limits work.

And I'm not just picking on Dragon Ball. It was actually Black Clover that inspired this rant because they do this all the time too. Its a common Shonen trope. But Dragon Ball does it too so I'm posting it here.

But Dragon Ball acts like a character has a maximum level of capability but they can just "break through their ceiling" in the spur of the moment and reach new levels of power as if the thing that was holding their power at its current maximum was some barrier.

This would be like if I had a car that could drive 300 miles on a tank of gas, that was the maximum it could drive. But somehow I grit my teeth and through sheer determination got the car to break through its ceiling and keep driving after the 300 mile mark without stopping to refuel, tapping into some hidden deep down vast reserve of gasoline the car never had access to before now. And then I kept doing that and just kept driving.

    Corona made me discover DBZ!

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 11:12 AM PDT

I am 16 years old and have always wanted to get into Dragon Ball, but never thought I had the time... now, because of Corona, I have watched all of Dragon Ball, DBZ Kai, and I am super excited to start GT. Wouldn't have discovered this masterpiece if it weren't for Corona, and it is a great distraction from all this.

Question regarding gohan in the majin buu saga

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 05:43 PM PDT

Okay, so I've been rewatching all the dubbed series' for the first time in a couple years. My love and devotion for this franchise has been reignited after a long bit. But after reaching the buu saga, I have a question, specifically with ultimate gohan (gohan post-"training" with the elder Kai). Iirc all the elder Kai said regarding this was that gohan would be a lot stronger and "he wouldn't need" to use super saiyan to defeat majin buu. Which was correct before he absorbed gotenks and piccolo. But then like, why didn't he just go super saiyan, surely the substantial increase in power could allow him to defeat buu, or at least put up a decent fight, or hell, he could've went full circle and went super saiyan 2. He did it in the martial art tournament so it's not like you could say he's too out of practice. He was just low on power from not fighting in a long time for the transformation to be as impressive as it was against cell. So then why, didn't gohan so super saiyan against buu?????

In the original dragon ball Goku's tail grows back multiple times, but in DBZ and Super this never happens to any of the other saiyans like Gohan and Vegeta, why is this?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 11:49 AM PDT

My theory at first was that Vegetas didn't grow back because he was too old, and his tail would've been too weak, but then I remembered Gohan had a tail too. So do y'all have any theories?

    Bruce Faulconer Name Mistakes

    Posted: 24 Apr 2020 02:30 PM PDT

I just bought The Majin Saga OST by Faulconer from 2002 and noticed there are numerous name mistakes for songs, like Babidi is Bobidi, and Dabura is Doubler, what's up with that?
