Why Vegeta is going to win this fight.

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 10:56 AM PDT

Why Vegeta is going to win this fight.

A see a lot of people hating on Vegeta with this new translation saying "oh he's just going to have his arm broken and lose again" I've seen this statement condensed down into a few points 1. Vegeta doesn't ever get to take out the big bad. 2. The arc would be too short if it was over now. 3. Granola has already been shown too powerful for Vegeta to win.

Each point is incredibly flawed and I'm going to explain why. 1. Vegeta has largely been on equal footing with Goku and there's been a ton of points in the story where he temporarily passed Goku in power, in DBZ Android saga he pops up out of nowhere goes super Saiyan and just wrecks Android 19, at this point those androids were fronted as the big bass of the arc. Even in Super up until ultra instinct Vegeta was equal footing with Goku and even did the best against Goku black in the manga. It's a very common trend that new transformations mean the hero gets the first win free.

    1. It's unlikely Granola even is the big bad, it's already shown that there are actual villains trying to get the same power boost granola did. He's clearly not a villain as it is and the entire conflict he is having with the protagonists is from a misunderstanding. It's very possible that this fight ends with Vegeta winning or gets interrupted and results in a bigger threat being revealed, this is very in line with standard dragon ball plot.

    2. Granola's wish doesn't mean he automatically wins here, in fact there is a lot of reasons that he wouldn't. His wish was to be the strongest mortal and was granted. There are three factors pointed out in this chapter that show this isn't a guaranteed win. Vegeta is using god energy, he has increased his power since the wish and Granola doesn't have the experience to use his power correctly. The latter two points being emphasized heavily in the chapter. Both Goku and Vegeta are approaching the strength of the gods quickly it's not unreasonable to see a sudden transformation push Vegeta over the power granted by granolas wish.

    Just my two cents.

TLDR: Vegeta is foreshadowed to win.

Which one is the best arc/saga of the dragonball franchise and why?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 04:26 AM PDT

Personally I think its the Frieza saga with the Cell saga as a close second (and the buu saga, black arc, top etc somewhere after that)

Why I think Vegeta killed Nappa

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 04:39 PM PDT

I don't think Vegeta killed Nappa because he was defeated or because he defied Vegeta's order to stay out of the fight. Nappa was very loyal to Vegeta and proved time and time again to be an extremely valuable ally. Nappa having his spine broken was a problem that could easily be fixed by the advanced technology they had.

I think Vegeta killed Nappa to intimidate Goku. I think Vegeta was afraid of Goku's power and killed Nappa as an act of psychological warfare to gain the edge. Vegeta knew that Goku was much weaker than Raditz a year ago. The Z fighters were able to easily beat the Saibamen, who were as strong as Raditz and it was clear Goku was stronger than any of them now. Vegeta then gets a scouter reading of 5000. After Goku shows up, his power level is over 8000 and he easily beats Nappa. Vegeta and Nappa know by now the Z fighters can raise their power levels, so Vegeta at this point has no idea what Goku's upper limit is. For the first time in years, Vegeta was genuinely scared for his life and wasn't sure if he could win.

Blind Dragon Ball Sequels Review: Parts 7 And 8 - Beerus Saga (DBS) + Battle Of Gods (DBS)

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 12:18 PM PDT

I'm watching/reading the dragon ball sequels for the first time, then making a review of each major story arc, credit goes to /u/Crpal for the way this was formatted, Here's a link to an overview of what these reviews include, + a link to all parts.

    Part 0 - Overview

Part 1 - Black Star Dragon Ball Saga (DBGT)

Part 2 - Baby Saga (DBGT)

    Part 3 - Super 17 Saga (DBGT)

Part 4 - Shadow Dragon Saga (DBGT)

    Part 5 - A Hero's Legacy (DBGT)

Part 6 - Jaco The Galactic Patrolman (Jaco)

Part 9 - Golden Frieza Saga (DBS)

    Part 10 - Resurrection Of F (DBS)

    Sub-Plots/Sections:

Pre-SSJ3 Goku Vs. Beerus: In general this part was pretty good, I don't mind a little filler, especially if it involves Goten and Trunks. But I do have a few problems with the way the timeline was explained. The narrator said it had been a few months after the 6 months-later wish scene near the end of dbz, making this story take place 9 months after the defeat of buu. This doesn't make sense because Pan is 4 after the 10-year timeskip at the end of z, and if she's going to be born in 8-9 months then that would make it so that this is 5 years later, so which is it? If I had to pick between having this section and the extended Beerus scene at the end of BoG, I'd probably have to pick BoG.

SSJ3 Goku Vs. Beerus: Even before I started the original dragon ball I saw people online complaining about the low-quality animation of this fight, but when I watched it, I only saw a couple messy frames, nothing horrible or anything close to it. And overall, DBS and BoG look amazing so far, DBS has pretty shitty camera angles I'll admit that much, but BoG doesn't have that issue, and the animation and art in both are really amazing in my opinion. If I had to pick between BoG and DBS for this fight I'd probably pick DBS because of SSJ1 and 2 Goku + the extended dialogue between the two. King Kai also had a bigger role in the anime.

Bulma's Birthday Party: Vegeta panicking was probably one of my favorite parts of this arc, and in the anime, I felt that it was a lot more serious compared to the movie, and I liked that more. Also, in the anime, there were extra scenes of Beerus and Whis eating, and when Beerus got angry and fought Buu it was really interesting compared to the faster-paced movie. The Pilaf gang coming back was a great decision they made, for the most part, it was better in the movie, but the mai x trunks stuff was really weird, I hope there's no more of that.

SSG Goku Vs. Beerus: IMO the anime handled this HORRIBLY, one of my biggest complaints before watching the movie was that Goku got a power boost that was at least 500 times stronger than his SSJ3 form, and it didn't really feel earned? Also in the anime, this fight took 2 hours of screen time to tell, and it felt really dragged out, the movie on the other hand took a quarter of that time and literally has more added and better content somehow? Also one of my predictions was going to be that "Whis is even stronger than Beerus", and I loved it when the movie confirmed my theory, and I hope they follow through with it in super. Beerus saying that he ran out of energy as a joke was kind of meh, I liked what they did in super better.

The Ending: The Dialogue between Whis and Beerus + Beerus destroying all those planets was way better than that filler-like episode at the end of the anime arc, though I hope the reason they excluded it was because Beerus isn't going to sleep for 3 years in the anime.

Question: Which version of this story is canon, the movie, or the anime?

Question 2: When in the timeline does everything in this arc take place, has Goku been training on King Kai's planet for 4 years or was that "9 months later" statement by the narrator just untrue. Also, when did Beerus wake up, was it 4 years before he came to earth or 2-1 days?

Best Moment: Vegeta saying he wants to work hard for his powers and not just receive it from some ritual, it shows his development from the buu saga (taking the Majin power-up) to now.

Worst Moment: The Super Saiyan God ritual.

Predictions (I'm watching RoF and The Golden Frieza Saga Next):

Jaco is going to appear in this arc - Sadly no

Beerus is actually weak - He isn't but he's cool as shit

    Vegeta will get SSG

Jaco will appear in this arc (I saw him in the opening so I have hope)

    Ranking The Arcs:

    Jaco The Galactic Patrolman>BoG/Beerus Saga>Baby Saga>A Hero's Legacy>Shadow Dragon Saga>Super 17 Saga>Black Star Dragon Ball Saga>

Part 6 - Jaco The Galactic Patrolman (Jaco)

Part 7 - God Of Destruction Beerus Saga (DBS)

Part 8 - Battle Of Gods (DBS)

    Sub-Plots/Sections:

Training With Whis: Probably the best part of this arc, I loved every bit of it, from Vegeta and Goku convincing Whis to teach them, to the chores, to the instructing, everything. Once again I'm kind of confused about how long each event was, and where it takes place in the timeline. I prefer the anime version of this section because it has a lot more content.

Z Fighters Vs. Frieza's Soldiers: This is where this arc starts to make 0 fucking sense, that one guy had a PL a little above captain Ginyu's, and then he tore piccolo apart with ease? huh? The action sequences and how this arc looks overall is better in the movie, but the logic and power scaling of the z fighters is horrible. Also, what the fuck did they do to buu? This is pretty much specific to me but Buu is my favorite character and "he's sleeping so he's not here" was lazy, dumb, and unfunny. They didn't just do that to Buu, they also did it to 18, who's 5,000 times stronger than Krillin but she had to stay back to "protect the baby" even though if Frieza wins the entire planet will fucking explode?

Goku And Vegeta Vs. Frieza: This section was okay but it's even more confusing, Also, IMO, this new super Saiyan form is really stupid, and it only looks good in the movie (like seriously the anime has like 2 good frames of Goku in this form). How the fuck did goku get pierced by a laser gun? I guess this was already explained earlier that he was "too relaxed" but seriously, dodoria could fire a ki blast stronger than that and Goku is like a billion times stronger than someone like him, so wtf? Once again the anime version of this fight was almost hard to look at, everything looks so low detail and bland- I honestly prefer GT re-using animation over this.

Question: Is there anywhere I can find an accurate full timeline of DBS?

Best Moment: Vegeta going Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Blue and defeating Frieza OR Gohan saying he wants Piccolo to train him again.

Worst Moment: Krillin saying that Buu was asleep so he couldn't join the fight

Predictions (Universe 6 Saga is next):

Vegeta will get SSG - I think he has it but I want to see him actually use it bc it'd look really cool on him

Jaco will appear in this arc (I saw him in the opening so I have hope) - Yeah but his character in the anime was kind of meh and a bit of a nuisance

    Vados is stronger than Whis

Piccolo and Gohan will be a big part of the next arc

    Ranking The Arcs:

    Jaco The Galactic Patrolman>BoG/Beerus Saga>Baby Saga>A Hero's Legacy>RoF/Golden Frieza Saga>Shadow Dragon Saga>Super 17 Saga>Black Star Dragon Ball Saga>

Kid Trunks in DBS: Super Hero

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 08:50 PM PDT

Due to a potential timeskip in the dbs movie, there's a high chance we'll see an older version of trunks and goten. Am I the only one that wants trunks to behave differently than future trunks? They were both raised so differently, one was forced to fight and struggle against the android threat, while the other lived an almost peaceful childhood. So I'd be a little happy if this version of trunks is a little more lax and snarky than the kind future trunks. This would also help differentiate the two characters.

    Goten and Trunks spin-off?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2021 06:53 AM PDT

Don't you think a spin off of Goten and Trunk's adventures? Something that's almost a callback to the old Dragonball series. Also I love the pair a lot but they don't get much screen time. What do you think?
