    Buu Saga Question

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 08:29 PM PST

So I'm on the episode 229, Vegeta's Pride.

When the two Majins (Spopovich and Yamu) first showed up, they had to drain Gohan's energy with a special device to take back to Babidi to begin restoring Buu. But now Vegeta's trying to fight Goku, and Shin said that any damage Vegeta does will go back to Babidi as energy for Buu.

Why did they need a device to drain Gohan when apparently Vegeta is doing it "wirelessly" now? Did I miss something?

    [Theory] Defeating Ultra Instinct?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 07:44 PM PST

Here's a fun one, a possible technique for beating Ultra Instinct: No pain, no gain.

The reasoning here revolves around the idea that despite Whis possessing fully mastered Ultra Instinct, there's nonetheless a moment in Battle of Gods when Piccolo manages to grab Whis' arm.

Now I'll be the first to admit that the most likely explanation is that Ultra Instinct hadn't yet been thought of as of this scene, but there is another possible explanation for how Piccolo managed this. It's because it didn't hurt him.

The body's nerves don't feel danger, they feel pain. So if the attack doesn't hurt, will Ultra Instinct still kick in? An interesting thought, but let's take it a step further, what if the attack actually felt good? (Easier than you might think, there's a nerve in the small of the back IRL that triggers enormous pleasure when zapped with a little electricity.) Then Ultra Instinct wouldn't just fail to activate, it would actively work against you, absorbing the attack for even more damage than a normal person, a la the Dark-Dark Fruit from One Piece.

I therefore surmise that it is in fact Master Roshi who would stand the best chance of defeating those who wield Ultra Instinct, given that he's the most likely to master a technique with such pervy applications. Who would've thunk it?

Didn’t Perfect Cell Kill Future Trunks In DBZ?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 09:19 PM PST

So I'm watching Dragon Ball Super for the first time, and future trunks has come back cause of goku black, and they're saying it's the same trunks that was in dbz during the cell games, I'm confused because I thought that cell (after absorbing gokus energy from exploding) came back and shot a ki blast through trunks chest? I could be forgetting something from that saga it has been years since I've seen it, any answers are appreciated!

Could Gohan have befriended/reasoned with Buu after he was first released in the Buu saga?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 12:21 PM PST

Back in the Buu saga when Buu first manifested after being released. Could Gohan have befriended Buu and/or get him under control?

For this scenario, Gohan has been having doubts about Supreme Kais warnings due to the things he has been wrong about earlier and his incompetence in general. After observing Buu's childish behavior and innocent nature, and seeing Babidi's lack of control. He's convinced there's a chance he can reason with him how one would reason with a child. Being the type who wouldn't fight if he didn't have to, he decides to give it a shot. Can he do it?

Couple of the methods I would imagine Gohan trying is after Babidi threatens Buu that he will seal him up again if he doesn't obey. Is that he would kill Babidi immediately and either tries to gain Buu's trust and approval by making himself out as the one who saved him from ever being sealed up again. Or tries to scare him with a bluff that he or Supreme Kai knows how to seal him up again and will do so if he doesn't behave.

    What do you guys think?

lets talk about where M.U.I goes from here and why im worried (long post im sorry)

    Posted: 05 Dec 2020 11:48 AM PST

To begin lets all say ultra instinct is super cool, but Goku mastering it is not... Well, at least its worrying.

to make it clear where im coming from, as I go about my typical YouTube browsing around dragonball content , i see far too many comments on videos saying they want form stacking i.e MUI +ssj MUI + kioken times X , i felt and still feel some worry that doing this would make the technique, because yes it is a technique and not a form, irrelevant . i felt initially this was a terrible idea, however after some thought i realized this could work, but with some caveats . We do need however to quantify some truths we know about ultra instinct.

    1. thinking about what to do slows you down, it makes the action of doing what you want to slower.

this makes sense, and how the show initially portrayed it is very good. and ill go by the english dub on this one. when whis was training goku and vageta he said " im quite disappointed neither of you posses the necessary speed. ... you two are still thinking before you move rather than just moving. ... this over thinking is limiting your fighting speed. messages can only travel through your nervous system so fast. when you rely on thoughts for physical action you lose precious fighting time." considering how goku and vageta are fighting at, what could only be described as insane speeds at this point in the series, this means they could be faster, more efficient, this did not however mention an increase of strength. which would be fine if later they didnt say the MUI technique increased strength. but this can be fairly waved away in a number of ways. at the end of the day, we can say we dont truly know the answer untill we are told.

    1. due to the body moving on its own without need of thought it can do things efficiently ...possibly.

so given what we know before given context of what whis has said, goku and vageta are incredibly strong, they are capable, though could train further IN BASE FORM. i want you to remember this, its important later about form stacking. so from here lets make an assumption, not an incredibly huge leap, buuuuuuuut if you are a martial arts master, knowing how to attack and when, after incredible training and effort, if you remove the need to even THINK and REVIEW what you are going to do and JUST DO IT, you will be a more formidable fighter. So the further you train your body to understand what the efficient path to victory in combat , this in theory, makes ultra instinct trainable to become more deadly.

given what we know now, what does that mean for goku?

well, goku has had some really interesting training over the years, and has displayed a butt ton of powers. but lets instead lets go over his very general abilities. on top of being a martial arts master , he has masterful chi control , he can gather chi from others if they give it willingly, he can MULTIPLY HIS STRENGTH/ CHI IN BURSTS, he can observe other techniques from other fighters and replicate them instantly, and finally he has multiple forms which have drawbacks and strengths. if we assume that ultra instinct technique is built on the back of ones former training then, for every combat situation goku can combine these things efficiently to reach the ultimate goal of victory. including form stacking, so long as he trained his body to know this to begin with.

THIS IS WHAT ULTRA INSTINCT IS, THATS WHY ITS NOT A FORM BUT ANOTHER TECHNIQUE

    so why am i concerned?

in chapter 66 of the manga, we see goku in a perilous state with Moro, and the rest of the Z fighters worried , offering to do a reverse of vageta's sprit fissure technique to give goku energy, and that in its self isnt bad, because goku needs energy to perform his multiple techniques, which ultra instinct relies on, to get to a path of victory. but then it turns worrisome quickly for me , as the first attempt doesnt work and it gives him energy, though doesnt allow him to use the ultra instinct technique, which goes against what we know by far about this. but a large amount of god chi from uub, DOES make the ability possible. thats whats alarming , because that transforms the technique into a form, and that will make it boring fast. because we have enough forms dont we? ozaru, super saiyan1 ,2 , and 3. super saiyan god , super saiyan god super saiyan. (wich btw even they had to come to understand how incredibly stupid that naming scheme was because they changed it) and to be honest by the time we got ssj blue it felt shallow, it was just another power boost, and it didnt even come with a new design for the form, which atleast its previous form did by making goku more slim, parroting the look of the most typically super slim gods. it just gave a hair dye job to super saiyan. THEY EVEN MADE FUN OF IT IN THE ENGLISH DUB OF THE REVIVAL OF F MOVIE. so im tired of forms honestly and the idea of ultra instinct being a technique is refreshing. another increase in form also just puts it on the same path towards being irrelivant when the next form appears.

ill end it here for now, i began writing this on a whim and ive got work to do. i hope to get this finished up as a complete...thing, sometime later depending on my drive to do so, but i hope the hook here is enough to get some discussion going. untill then hope you enjoy my take
