    The Goku black arc has a massive plot problem

    There is no future in which Goku fights zamasu without trunks' arrival in the first place. In other words, Goku black has to happen in order for trunks to travel back in time creating the parallel timeline.

    There is no possible way that the timeline gets splintered here.

    Goku needed to fight zamasu without trunks traveling back in the past for the plot to actually be consistent.

    Or at the very minimum, have zamasu just see the universe 6 tournament and see goku's power without the fight actually happening.

    [Manga] What are your expectations for it's ending?

    Do you expect it to connect or retcon End of Z?

    What if they somehow connect it with (maybe even rewrite) GT? Would you be excited or frustrated about it?

    I particularly don't mind the direction the series take and am on just for the ride, but nevertheless would like to know how the community feel about it

    What If King Piccolo Turned Good?!

    I know that this idea seems a little farfetched, but hear me out.

    Everything pretty goes the same as it did in the original, up until the end of the Goku vs King Piccolo fight. Instead of Goku spearing King Piccolo through the chest, King Piccolo is able t move out of the way just enough to where Goku takes a chuck out of his side. Rather than using the last of his energy to spit out one final egg, he uses it to regenerate his body. Reluctantly, he flies and hides, training in preparation for his rematch with Goku.

    Over the next few years, everything for the Z-Fighters goes about the same. After reviving everyone that King Piccolo and his sons killed with the Dragon Balls , Goku still trains with Kami, but this time he trains for with King Piccolo, instead of Piccolo Jr.. The final match of the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, in place of Piccolo Jr. vs Goku, is a rematch between Tien Shinhan and Goku, which Goku wins.

    During the 5 year break between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, the only major difference is that the gang trains, since King Piccolo is still out there, so their power levels are a little higher.

    At the end of the time skip, when King Piccolo is just about to go and face Goku for his long awaited rematch, he confronted by Raditz. Noticing his similar appearance to Goku, he demands to know if Raditz is a friend of Goku. At this point in the story, Raditz doesn't know that his brother had his name changed from Kakarot to Goku, but even so, he refuses to answer King Piccolo's question. This angers the King, who fires off a Destructive Wave at Raditz, which doesn't even faze him. This leaves King Piccolo agahst, but before Raditz can return the favor, his scouter picks up another power level and he decides to go and find it.

    King Piccolo secretly follows this man and finds out that he is Goku's brother, Goku is an alien, and the reason Raditz is here is to conquer the Earth. After Raditz leaves and takes Gohan, King Piccolo reveals himself to everyone and reluctantly states that him and Goku have to teammate to defeat this invader. While the thought of teaming up with Goku makes him physically sick, he will not allow anyone else to conquer Earth except himself. Although Goku is even more hesitant to team up with King Piccolo than he was to team up with Piccolo Jr., he knows he doesn't have much of a choice.

    The fight between the three happens as it did with Piccolo Jr. in the original, and it ends with King Piccolo using his newly created technique, the Special Beam Cannon, to kill both Goku and Raditz. While revealing in his long awaited victory over Goku, Raditz let's him know that his two comrades are on their way to Earth and that they are even more powerful than he is.

    While he doesn't show it on the outside, King Piccolo is shaking on the inside. If these two invaders are even stronger than this one, then what is he going to do. He then sees out of the corner of his eye, a passed out Gohan. Remembering the large power boost he showed during the fight with Raditz, he kidnaps Gohan and, instead of finishing Raditz off, he leaves him to slowly die of his wounds.

    During the one year of training, King Piccolo is much harsher during training than his son was, trying to get Gohan to give in to his anger, although this does not work as Gohan is too good natured. This means that the two don't become friends as of yet. This is because Piccolo Jr. was already starting to change from evil to good, while King Piccolo at this point is still set in his evil ways. So him and Gohan, at best, have a student and teacher relationship. Granted, they some what bond over King Piccolo teaching the Masenko.

    And I'll the story there for now. Now, while this What If is about King Piccolo turing into a good guy, it's going to take him a bit longer than it took son in the Original. I do plan on doing a proper What If for this idea.
