    If you were tasked with writing an adaptation/reboot of Dragon Ball, what significant change would you make that would improve the story?

    I'm not suggesting that you go full Dragonball Evolution here, but the source material wasn't without its imperfections. What changes would you make that would enhance the story? Here are mine:

    -Give Yamcha more awesome moments: It's about time Yamcha has had a bone thrown to him. I'd give him a higher winning streak and make his defeats less humiliating. While we're on the subject of Yamcha, I'd probably also have him and Bulma break up much sooner so the latter getting with Vegeta doesn't feel as cheap.

    -Have Dr. Gero appear in the Red Ribbon Army saga: As a kid going into the original Dragon Ball, it was disappointing to find out Gero never existed until the Android/Cell Saga. I'd give him a supporting role, or maybe even have him fill Staff Officer Black's role since Black's character is a little... obsolete.

    -Give Raditz a bigger role: There was a lot of wasted potential with Raditz. With him being Goku's brother, you'd think he would have been more than just a starter villain for the Z era. Here are two ways I can do this: A. Make the battle with Raditz longer, or B. Switch Nappa and Raditz's roles. Also have the battle with Raditz go into Bardock and Gine's story a little.

    -Have Vegeta earn his Super Saiyan transformation: In the Android saga, we had a brief arc with Vegeta growing frustrated that he can't go Super Saiyan. Then, after the timeskip, BOOM, now he's a Super Saiyan. I feel that got resolved too quickly. Keep Vegeta as a base Saiyan throughout the Android/Cell saga, and show him getting stronger, but not satisfied that he hasn't achieved what his rival, his son from the future, and even his rival's son could achieve. Then, a moment finally awakens a rage in him that isn't fueled by his pride or his envy. What is that moment? When Cell kills Trunks near the end of the Cell Games. The very first thing he does with his new transformation is fire the blast at Cell that weakens him enough for Gohan to finish him off.

    I noticed even things like the DBS card game, Dokkan, Legends, XV2 etc all kept it as Toppo?.

    Is this gonna be another case of how some things still use Thouser/Salza, Coora/Cooler, Wheelo/Uiro, Bojack/Boujack etc?.

    New Arc That I'd Pay to See

    So after the current Arc wraps up I think it would be awesome if:

    -Beerus/Whis note that in order for Vegeta/Goku to perfect their Destroyer/UI forms to the point where they can use them with no drawbacks, that they have to firstly increase base form strength (going back to this one), plus grow their inner god ki reservoirs

    -Incorporate a good Arc or multiple Arcs where Goku/Vegeta travel to U6 and are hanging with the saiyans once again (since the earthlings are irrelevant power wise at this point). They are forced to stay in their base forms in order to train, allowing any potential U6 fights to be based around skill/technique/wit versus power scaling and asspull writing

    -Goku/Vegeta can learn some cool old school saiyan techniques/new blasts, you name it. We can get immersed in the saiyan lifestyle/culture. Throw in a few big bads, allow Cabba and the ladies to shine/show off some of their training (new forms, etc.). If Goku/Vegeta or Cabba/U6 saiyans somehow end up in danger/near death, Goku/Vegeta can flex some of their forms (SS, SS2, etc) to get out've a sticky situation (would save that unless thats absolutely needed).

    -Overall this would allow for some cool story writing, get back to some good fighting animations, allow goku/vegeta to really show off their battle intelligence versus the traditional power up, get matched, power up more and all that. To tie everything back to U7, maybe a group of saiyans are willing to come back to U7 to train under Goku/Vegeta, they inhabit a new "planet vegeta". You could even tie in Broly and have him join this new saiyan planet.

    -Would really bring some life back into the storyline, introduce new characters, get much more out of the saiyans, and we can end the cycle that is 1.) new big bad 2.) goku/vegeta trade off to fight 3.) power up to meet power level, power up again... and again 4.) new big bad is stronger somehow (wow go figure) 5.) asspull or fusion 6.) big bad defeated 7.) new forms are nerfed 8.) rinse and repeat
