    What’s the best DBZ movie?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2021 01:25 PM PDT

Currently doing a rewatch of the 15 OG DBZ movies. They all hold up so far, but my top 2 are Revenge of Cooler (for the awesome soundtrack alone) and Tree Of Might for having some of the best animation in the entire show and is still the best looking of the bunch despite it being one of the oldest.

    What are your favorites??

Is Goku continuously letting Frieza live bad for his character?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2021 07:54 PM PDT

I just ask, because he treats Frieza being strong-armed into a tournament that would end with his own erasure as him completely turning over a new leaf. He's completely reformed the Frieza Force, and after he leaves in Broly, (after Gogeta lets him go), we see him razing-destroying/ dominating another planet and terrorizing/possibly killing the inhabitants.

Those lives are on Goku's hands. I thought he cared about that stuff? Those are so many lives that won't be revived with the Dragon Balls because as long as he doesn't come for Earth, apparently Frieza gets free reign, and Goku just gets earfuls from Vegeta at most?

Goku beat him on Namek, thinking he killed him, then killed him for real in Trunk's timeline, AND Resurrection F he killed him. People are dying because he won't do anything, which is making him look like Batman and Joker, but if Batman only let Joker live because fighting him was fun.

Goku dreams of Majin Buu while suffering heart virus... Potential Theory?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2021 06:20 PM PDT

Goku is incapacitated by heart virus symptoms.

While unconscious, has dream of Cell & Majin Buu in different forms...

Struggling on the brink of death, though after time – & explicitly in a rather SUDDEN unexpected fashion (as Chi Chi is alarmed at his absence from the bed, with no one ever actually OBSERVING him having woken up) – Goku is alive & well again, fully recovered after waking.

    0 0

Soon afterwards, training for Cell & other stuff happens...

(I am honestly considering the possibility that Goku might have even DIED in the room of Spirit & Time while training with Gohan, his proud son who, as STATED by Goku, 'is expected to surpass even HIM...', so to speak. The reason for my suspecting this is the matter of it's sheer possibility as a potential outcome along others, as in Goku COULD have died in such conditions & also this concept was LOOSELY hinted at, if you make abstract connections to the dialogue & story leading up to when Goku & Gohan actually enter the room... tHinK aBoUt iT...)

    Come the day to fight...

Goku is duking it out with Cell. Gives up. Sends in Gohan.

     *PAUSE...*

Okay, at THIS point, assuming Goku DID die in the Room of Spirit & Time from Gohan OPing his own father incidentally, HERE is how that logic checks out up to that point...

Goku DREAMS of these great encounters, before hand.

Assuming the following of dreams, as they operate interactively with the conscious observer; that dreams are visions of potential outcomes which may be experienced in a different timeline / plane of existence.

So then, how would you ACCESS that orthogonal timeline? Your current observing self would have to be transposited into THAT set of outcomes.

In Goku's case, he is essentially dreaming of a GREATER set of outcomes for himself. Certainly, his intention would be to have his presence before such outcomes if they were made available to him...

    So, did he DIE?

I think, specifically, it was portrayed as POSSIBLE.

Goku had the opportunity to die, a) from the heart virus, & b) from Gohan transcending SS to his peril.

So then, back to the point...

Gohan is getting badly beaten. Even life threateningly, as Piccolo asserts.

(Also note that THIS set of outcomes is after a TON of other SIGNIFICANT stuff that might have altered a lot... For instance, consider it that VEGETA might have killed Cell instead of allowing him mercy? Now, consider it that also in that set of outcomes, there might also exist the occurrence of Gohan killing his father by accident... The irony all too great, in that Vegeta would have taken care of the whole thing alone & Gohan training so insanely far that Goku ends up getting killed was ULTIMATELY for NOTHING at all... Now THAT is a SAD set of outcomes... Disappointing rather... & as VEGETA STATED in the show itself, "That would be all too great a disappointment for me." ~speaking this to Imperfect Cell, mockingly... I'm getting excited... TEHE!) ... (...)

Alright, anyhow. So Gohan literally gets compacted into a mountain, I think...

Piccolo himself is almost sure he has been killed...

    Goku is totally confident, however...

So, AGAIN, possibility states that Gohan is like Schrodinger's Cat, right about now... NEITHER alive nor dead, until confirmed.

(Perhaps, there is an outcome to be entertained of Gohan dying there... Though otherwise, 0% probability might suit. Just a little healthy suspense, on the writers part. They may not have meant any inference of likelihood... or else...)

Yet! We see Gohan live, surviving to fight on... Or do we!??

    Well yes, WE do...

But DOES THIS mean that Gohan ACTUALLY DIED & awoke – like his father Goku (who also, just to mention, STARTED the whole story of DB in the first place by fatally falling from a cliff as a baby... but supposedly SURVIVING, ahem – in a GREATER set of outcomes?

(You may or may not have noticed the "theme" here, with Dragon Ball, that is... 'The Viewer Always Gets The Greater Outcome'. That's all there is to it. If it would be better suited to our viewing pleasure, then THAT will be affirmed upon instead of lesser outcomes. Hence, the cheery nature of DB)

So, here AGAIN, with Gohan now essentially presumed dead in the previous world & having awoken to his higher destiny, he goes back in, but still cannot succeed. Until everyone around him begins to approach their death from the Cell Jr attack... Then the very first one dies; the noble Android 16.

(The fact that he is technically a piece of technology IS SOMETHING TO CONSIDER. Human dependence on technology can be symbolic as a sign for weakness... The idea presented to Gohan in this fashion, that "It's ALL to make you stronger...". This "sacrifice" then ascends Gohan to dramatic levels of strength)

"THESE WILL NOT BE SACRIFICED BEFORE ME." I imagine inner dialogue for Gohan being sounded. He then attains the legendary SS2, firsties style...

So, then... A pummelling for Cell. Goku hurries Gohan, but Gohan is consumed by malice & disobeys his father, causing Goku to make the choice of DEATH...

For the FIRST time, a seemingly PERMANENT main character death... The protagonist of protagonists; Goku gives it total faith... & DIES in order to meet the GREATER outcomes...

    ... (...) ... get it?

At this point in the show, the message is BLARING at you...

The way to chase your dream of greatness is to devote your entire life to it... erR-aH-AH-AHEMM!!!

So, as the theory operates. Goku is gone from the timeline he left then, forever...

    He never returned...

The Majin Buu arc is HIS observing perspective. He dreamed of it & chased his dreams, devoting his life to the effort.

This also explains a bit more about how zany & unorthodox DBZ develops towards & what that should imply; life is an increasingly greater yet also more self involved / revolving fantasy of a dream... & the dreamer is YOU.

To finalize, the core theory to mention is summarized like this; Are dreams TRULY visions of potential outcome in different probabilities?

I think this is a fitting notion for our own human experience of dreams. Maybe they are ethereal notices of various other lives we may otherwise involve our observing selves with, but only if we DEVOTED LIFE to it... Spooky.

    Thanks for reading!

    Goku becoming evil

    Posted: 15 Oct 2021 05:47 PM PDT

Do you think theyd ever have Goku snap out of his amnesia caused by him hitting his head as a kid?

It'd have to occur after the End of Z but I think it'd be cool to see the real Goku wreaking havoc

Toriyama was toying with the idea of having a evil goku for awhile

    Posted: 15 Oct 2021 05:09 AM PDT

So I have been thinking about this for quite awhile but ever since namek saga (can't remember anything prior to that) that the series was trying to make Goku into an antagonist!

The first time when captain Ginyu when he switched bodies with Goku, introducing us an evil Goku, but it was short lived since he didnt know how to use his power!

The next was with the movies, bardock (although maybe he isn't considered evil) and his brother Turles, using Goku likeness in both! But these two arent cannon plus I am not sure toriyama had anything to do with the movies!

Then with Goku black, and this was much more successful at making Goku the antagonist but once again the main focus was mostly zamasu!

And I have a feel, at the start of the tournament of power they were making Goku seem like a villain, at least in the view of the rest of the universes, but it seems that after a while they dropped that idea and wasnt mention much more!

Maybe in the future that theme is going to comeback again, or maybe I am just making connection where they dont exist
