    Do you think Dragon Ball continues after Toriyama's death? When is Dragon Ball going to end?

    Toriyama's manga ended 26 years ago, but Dragon Ball has continued on. The property has evolved beyond his penmanship. Toyotaro is writing the manga, Toei is animating the movies and shows, and Bandai Namco is developing the games. Toriyama has supposedly been somewhat involved in this new era of Dragon Ball, but the level of his involvement seems very basic.

    I do not know Japanese intellectual property laws, but does Toriyama still own the IP of Dragon Ball? Or did he give it away? If he still owns the property, he is only allowing these companies to use the Dragon Ball property, they must ask permission. However, if he signed ownership of the IP away, he has very little control over what happens to Dragon Ball and it could still go on after he passes.

    When do you think Dragon Ball ends?

    There's a scene in DBZ where Trunks pretends to attack Goku with his sword but stops just before he hits him. Trunks asks why Goku did nothing to block the incoming attack, and he responds by saying, "I searched your feelings, so I knew that you would stop." I'm aware that Dragon Ball character can sense people's Ki and judge whether it is malicious or not, but does Goku passively sense the emotions of people around him at all times or does he have to actively choose to do so? For example, there is a character in Re:Zero (this isn't a vs debate question I'm just using a random example) that can shatter people if she touches them, but would such an individual be able to trick Goku into making contact with her? Since Goku can sense people's emotions, would he be able to sense her malicious intent and react accordingly?
