"Oh! hello, Gohan! It's me, your father - Kakarott, er - Goku, definitely not your favourite uncle Raditz back from the dead, putting on Kakarott's clothes as part of a ruse to become a proper character."

Was Akira Toriyama the pioneer for the fusion between two characters in media?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 04:05 PM PDT

When I first watched DBZ 20 years ago I vividly remember how cool a concept was to see 2 of my favorite characters merge into 1. It was like a dream come true for 10 year old me to witness Vegito. So I started digging to find where this trope originated from and I wasn't having any luck. The closest I got to a true fusion is in mecha which is not the same as fusing 2 biological beings.

So was Akira Toriyama just ahead of his time or do you know of any other popular fusion instances before this period?

What do you want from next series?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 07:02 PM PDT

Personally I'd like to see it carry on from the DBZ ending with Uub. Or see it go back to Roshi, Gohan and Ox., mainly just reducing the power level again.

    What happened to Vegeta's scars?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 02:01 PM PDT

When Vegeta is training in the gravity chamber in DBZ, he has all kinds of scars all over his body

But in Super's ToP, after his Final Explosion destroys his armor, he has no scars at all

So are the scenes of shirtless Vegeta with all the scars in Z just filler? Or did he just get plastic surgery or something in the meantime?

if trunks and kirllin didn't destroy gero's underground lab containing the cell embryo/fetus, how strong would that cell have become (in its perfect form) after absorbing dna from buu, dabura, beerus, ginyu etc., and possessing their abilties?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 05:12 AM PDT

HYPOTHETICALLY, in this scenario cell reaches perfect form after absorbing a stronger android 17 and 18 (the ones from dbs)...also the cell embryo/fetus is revived after buu destroys earth, just in case anyone wants to say buu destoryed it...

would the dna of buu and beerus, in particular, make cell stronger or simply give him more abilties without necessarily improving his physical strength?

like imagine cell with buus regenrative ability, buu/babidi magical ability, daburas spitting ability, ginyu's body swap ability and pui pui's ability to fight at 10x earth's gravity

Is dbs broly Canon to the anime?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 10:58 AM PDT

The dbz broly used the anime logo instead of the manga one. So isn't it canon to the anime?

The Level Sets - Should we do something about this?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 06:02 PM PDT

As many of you already know, Funimation released probably the most perfect release of Dragon Ball Z in the form the "Level Sets". The release contained perfectly remasted episodes with grain intact and good colour correction.

I know the sets were cancelled, but surely as a community, we can't let this remain dead. The 30th Anniversary Sets were not much better than the Season Sets (from what I've seen) despite being (a somewhat cropped) 4:3.

Like how the DC_Cinematic subreddit have been non-stop in getting WB to #ReleaseTheSynderCut, it may not happen but atleast its out there. Atleast WB are definately aware that the people want this cut with the original cast of JL even tweeting the same hashtag. At some point it might even happen.

For years, fans have tried to get Samurai Jack Season 5 made. It took 12 years but it happened.

So I ask, should we start something? Should we try to get the level sets finished? It would be the ultimate cut of Dragon Ball Z. The highest image quality of all the DBZ releases in HD with all three audio tracks available. We have to let Funimation know that the demand is out there, otherwise they'll never bother!

    ???... #ReviveTheLevelSets ...???
