If Saiyans have no limits, what does Whis mean when he says 'goku broke through his limits' when going ultra instinct.

If saiyans have no limits, what does whis mean when he says goku broke through his limits when going ultra instinct and vegeta also broke through his limits when going ssjbe. And why does vegeta repeatedly state, '' We are already nearing our limits''

Does Anyone Else Think The Manga's Universal Survival Arc Might Just Be The One Of The Worst Arcs In Dragonball?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 08:28 AM PDT

It was so obvious that Toyotaro wanted to skip through the tournament just to get to drawing original material.

Literally every single problem the anime version had was still present or made worse. And for every arguable improvement made (Kale/Caulifla's relationship, Jiren's backstory etc.), there were a dozen poor decisions or missed opportunities.

People complained that the anime didn't give characters like Krillin, Tien and Picollo enough time to shine...

Meanwhile, the manga eliminated all of them, plus Android 18, without them doing much of anything. In addition, Gohan, Vegeta and 17 all accomplished significantly less than their anime equivalents.

People complained that the anime's pacing was too slow...

Meanwhile, the manga rushed through the tournament at breakneck speed. Half the universes were eliminated by Kale in a single chapter. Toppo and Dyspo did nothing. Ultra Instinct didn't get nearly as much buildup or fanfare.

People complained that the anime's power scaling was completely out of whack...

Meanwhile, the manga had Berserker Kale beating up Golden Freiza... only for Kefla (an exponentially stronger fighter) to lose to Gohan later. On top of that, we had Frost basically solo-ing an entire universe, Aniraza losing to one kick from Kale, and most infamously, Roshi making it to the endgame and dodging hits from Jiren.

People complained that Frieza's return was forced and unnecesary in the anime...

But unlike the manga, he at least recieved actual character development, eventually accepting the idea of trust to take down Jiren at the end of the tournament. Manga Freiza just kind of... exists. He undergoes little to no development, knocks off a few minor fighters and that's it.

People complained that Ultra Instinct was an asspull in the anime...

But atleast there, it recieved several appearances to hype up the form, and was foreshadowed waaaay earlier. In the manga, Goku just sort of... learns Ultra Instinct by watching Roshi, a teacher who he surpassed all the way back in OG Dragonball.

Ok, rant over. I remember being so hyped for the manga version of the tournament, hoping it would fix the issues in the anime. Instead, what we got was arguably waaaay worse. Does anyone else share this opinion?

An oversight the writers missed from DBZ

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 08:09 PM PDT

As everyone knows in return of f/golden frieza saga in super there's a moment after frieza is resurrected where he's brought up to speed on goku's current power. He has a quote in both the movie and the anime that goes something like "Goku defeated majin buu?? There's two beings in the universe father told me to never challenge and that's beerus the destroyer and majin buu." Except there's an episode in DBZ where all the past villians are in hell watching SS3 Goku fight with Buu. Frieza is included in this scene. So did the writers/toriyama just straight up forget this scene? Maybe they just ignored it for character building?
