My problem with Super Perfect Cell Posted: 23 Oct 2020 06:15 PM PDT The problem I have with Super Perfect Cell is different from most peoples problem with him. Some people don't like the nucleus plot twist, but I think that it somewhat makes sense, and him getting a Zenkai boost makes a ton of sense to me. My problem with Super Perfect Cell is *Takes a deep breath* HE GOES BACK TO HIS PERFECT FORM. In my mind he should have stayed as Semi-perfect Cell after he got revived, and just got the power boost from it, him going back to his Perfect form, while it looks cooler than his Semi-perfect form, makes no sense. I get that they wanted his final battle to be cool, and therefore they wanted him to have his cooler looking form, but if you think about it for 2 seconds it makes no god damn sense. Plus all Super Perfect Cell did was fire 2 energy blasts, and fire a kamehameha, I wouldn't have minded having a worse looking design for like 5 minutes, in exchange for MAKING SOME DAMN SENSE. Thank you for listening to my ted-talk, next week I'll explain why Piccolo should've died when he fused with Kami. [link] [comments]

I wish they did more with Dende and Gohan's friendship.. Posted: 23 Oct 2020 12:26 PM PDT Just a thought I got while remembering the scene where Dende goes back to Namek and it was so emotional. But it's so sad to see nothing more came out of this. I'd love some episodes dedicated around these two for sure! [link] [comments]

Am I the only one who doesn't care for Chris Ayres' Frieza? Posted: 23 Oct 2020 02:17 PM PDT Don't get me wrong, I think Chris Ayres is a great voice actor. And I can see why people prefer him as the English voice of Frieza. But for me personally, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm just not into the whole posh, snobby, Shakespearian-esque, style for Frieza. I know that a lot of people like that style, but I didn't particularly care for it. I personally prefer Linda Young's voice. While some of the lines from the old dub are ridiculous, I just felt like her performance was darker and more threatening. It fit more with Frieza's personality as a cold-blooded killer in my opinion. And again, while some of the silly writing of the original Frieza saga dub can bring down the performance, when it works it really works well. But overall, I felt like Linda Young's performance captured Frieza's personality better than Chris Ayres' did. Now, all that being said, I think the Japanese voice for Frieza was the best, and none of the English actors have really matched it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 23 Oct 2020 10:33 PM PDT I'm trying to put together a cosplay of Future Trunks, particularly his Super design. Can anyone tell what material his jacket is made of? Also if anyone has any tips on how to bring it all together I would appreciate it [link] [comments]

How exactly is class determined in dbz (Specifically Saiyans) Posted: 23 Oct 2020 06:18 PM PDT So during the Saiyan saga both vegeta and nappa repeatedly called goku a low class saiyan? And assuming Raditz was high class (mainly because even before vegeta getting gone (The planet) Raditz was rolling around with vegeta (The Prince of all saiyans) and nappa in their squad) So evidently it's not based on the parents, since goku and raditz have such different ranks despite being brothers. Is it about power? No raditz was a weakling even among saiyan standards, so that can't be it? So how is a saiyans class determined [link] [comments]
What causes the dragon ball Gt song to sound so nostalgic, what makes it nostalgic? Posted: 23 Oct 2020 05:44 PM PDT Might sound a weird of a question, but dragon ball gt song is very nostalgic, a lot of people agree, but what exactly about the song that makes it nostalgic? General opinion of GT is that it's the most disliked one, yet the song is so fondly remember to the point people feel nostalgic to a show that is considered bad by many. I myself remember the song by heart, yet I also remember how bored I was as a kid for GT. So I never had a big attachment to GT, yet the song sticked with many people, what's the secret behind this masterpiece of a song! [link] [comments]

I think I have a theory about Goku's character "regression" in DB Super Posted: 23 Oct 2020 07:33 PM PDT A lot of people are disappointed in Goku's character development in the entire Super series, and I'm not just talking about the latest DBS manga chapter (so if you want to discuss that please put spoiler tags for those who haven't seen it). Now, I'm gonna go ahead and make up an excuse for him. So, remember the advice that Whis keeps giving them to rely on their body's instincts rather than their thinking? Well, what if Goku took this a bit too far and follows this advice with decision making as well? In all of Super, there was rarely a time where Goku paused and thought about his actions, both in and out of combat. In DBZ, after his experience with Frieza, he started making unselfish decisions. He chose not to fight Cell when he went to save Tenshinhan, he decided to train Gohan to surpass him and allow him to fight Cell, he decided to remain dead because people keep coming after him, and he decided to leave Buu up to Gotenks. Now with all of these things, he had a lot of time to think about those decisions so it's hard to know if those are his initial instinct or not. But when he killed Buu, he stopped and thought about sparing him for a moment and then he said maybe come back when you're less evil and finished him off. So it seems like Goku's instincts always tells him to spare his enemies and he has to use his head to go against that. He just stopped using his head in Super because that's what allows him to fight better (to use Ultra Instinct). Now, this is probably not intentional but it could be the explanation for Goku being more selfish than expected in Super. [link] [comments] |
