My favourite scene from dragon ball super:

    Posted: 29 Mar 2021 05:14 PM PDT

Aight so I want to talk about my favourite scene from dragon ball super. For no reason I just felt like it after watching through it again recently. And That is goku re-enacting his fight with grandpa gohan. It's a scene that people miss often. Alot of people see him just Traning before the tournament. This was definitely missed by me at first until my friend pointed it out to me a few weeks later. Anyway why I love it so much. Spoiler most of it is to do with how I interpret it. I understand that is a small little scene but I love overthinking scenes like this.

I love this scene for many reasons. For one everybody loves the original dragon (at least a majority do) and a bit of a call back to the begging of the show is a nice touch. But it isn't just a mindless piece of nostalgia. Too me at least

When re-watching this scene with context I felt as if this scene was a lot more interesting. It feels like the story is trying to tell you that even after all goku and his friends have been through, from silly adventures all the way up to battling gods in another timeline, right before an event that will likely have them erased, it's the same pure, innocent and naive goku that we have watched since the beginning. The same goku who loves fighting so much while being a kind hearted saiyan. And while that was probably not the writers/animators intentions (because I think that would be a little deep for dragon ball let alone dragon ball super especially considering how poorly gokus character was handled) it felt like that what's they were implying. It's probably one of my favourite dragon ball scenes ever just because that's how I picture it. It's got to be high up on my list at least.

Maybe I'm over thinking this scene too much. But this is personally how I picture it. And I feel like i have to talk about it somewhere lmao.

Also What's some of your favourite scene from super? I'm curious to see. Super is a pretty weird anime. At times it can be really good and at other times it can be really poor.

New to collecting DB merch but to start of my collection I got a SSJ4 Goku figure. I'm happy with it because SSJ4 is my favourite transformation

    Here's my Figuarts collection!

I just finished watching Super and I'm wondering can I start reading the manga from 43 or should I read the whole thing?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2021 02:06 PM PDT

I know that there are some differences between the manga and the anime, so are there enough big differences that the "Patrol Prisoner" saga and the "Granola" saga won't make sense?

Or even if it is the same story is 1-42 worth reading on it's own merit?

Could Buu copy ultra instinct like he can other techniques?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2021 04:39 PM PDT

Given it's a martial arts technique that theoretically anyone could learn, do you think he could do it? We've seen Buu copy techniques after just seeing them once like the kamehameha and instant transmission. So why not Ultra Instinct? Let's assume Buu see's Goku use it in person, could he copy it? If not, would he at least be able to learn it faster than Goku did?

    Art style evolution through DB

    Posted: 29 Mar 2021 03:18 PM PDT

Who else thinks that the art for Dragon Ball got SIGNIFICANTLY worse after the Freeza Saga? Hell, it was already starting to go downhill by the time Goku landed on Namek in my opinion.

In my opinion, Toryama's art was at its peak in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai and Saiyan Sagas. The art was much more dynamic and expressive at this time. The roundedness and proportions of the characters made everything look a lot more lively and the expressiveness of the characters was at its best.

The way the faces were drawn were much better during the earlier sagas, with smaller facial features that were drawn a lot more smoothly. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but Toryama somehow lost the ability to convey strong emotions later on. The utter psychoticness and rage of Vegeta and innocence and determination of Goku in their faces was pretty much gone by the start of the Cell saga. That's not even mentioning Piccolo who had an extremely unique and threatening looking face early on that was lost.

All the good features I mentioned above gradually started to disappear and were gradually replaced by an increasingly angular and lifeless style. The way the characters were drawn became way more stiff and blocky. All the features of their faces became extremely pointed with the shapes of their heads basically becoming bricks and a lot of the unique expressiveness of each character was largely lost. The proportions of their bodies become dominated by gigantic puffy muscles and huge stiff limbs, making everyone look less like humans and more like plastic action figures.

I know a lot of people like the late DBZ style, but I just don't like it at all.

    lssj and evil saiyan

    Posted: 29 Mar 2021 07:04 PM PDT

yall i figured out how lssj works, because i never believed in the "a ssj appears once every 1000 years" thing ive been trying to figure out how it works, going off of the dbs broly movie, the lssj form is achieved when a saiyan uses the power of a great ape as a super saiyan and goes full power, which explains why they go berserk, which means the kale and dbz broly are somehow unconsciously merging the power of a great ape with ssj which for kale i get since they don't know what a great ape is but universe 6 saiyans can still achieve the wrathful form due to the fact that you don't need a tail, now if i could only figure out how the evil saiyan state works and how someone achieves it
