    Vegeta needs to win the final battle of atleast one arc. His character requires that win.

    Moderately long post warning, and this is not a Goku hate post

    As the only character since the start of DBZ with a character arc and development, Vegeta needs a victory to assert the claim that he's one of the best Anime characters of all time. (Piccolo had some, but it stopped after the cell arc).

    It's not just about power or beating the bad guys. It's about having that moment of victory/achievement to himself. Something like this gives his character the badly needed it factor, that he achieved something apart from power boosts.

    I know dragon ball doesn't work that way, they don't give out wins to anyone other than Goku. ( I know Toriyama teased Gohan's power for the entirety of DBZ and finally gave him a win against Cell, but then he/toei decided he wasn't popular enough to lead and bought Goku back).

    I just wish the only well written/developed character in Dragon Ball gets a win to prove he's well written.

    Let's look at canon villains after Vegeta came,

    Goku beat Nappa, ginyu (didn't exactly defeat), frieza, ,proved a better match for perfect cell, went ssj3, beat buu, went super Saiyan god, killed frieza again (A robbed vegeta moment), proved tough against hit while vegeta was made to job out, beat hit, got UI, beat Jiren, beat Moro

    These are literally the only cannon villains after vegeta's introduction.

    Ones that Goku didn't defeat - Cell lost to Gohan (Sadly Goku had to come back, so Gohan was subsequently weakened)

    Zamasu got erased by Omni King Babidi, dabura, gero, android 19 are fodder 16,17,18 turned good

    GT, Movies aren't cannon and even in those vegeta doesn't win in anything. Hell, in original Broly movie he was just made to stand (or float) there with shock for almost the entirety of the fight.

    You could argue vegeta got wins against rest of Ginyu force, Dodoria, Zarbon and Cui, but that's about it.

    Maybe it wasn't possible before for various reasons and DBZ was milking out Goku's popularity to the maximum, but it is maybe possible now. He has tapped into hakaishin power. Let him win this arc in the end.

    Maybe In DBZ it didn't matter. He was slowly realising he was a side character, and there were only 3 cannon main villains in dBz, so he had to job out to all of them.But in super he's attained God power as early as the second arc. But still couldn't finish off any fight. What's the point of giving him so much power then?

    Frieza arc was vegeta's to win, it would've been perfect, he was an age old villain so they're not losing out by not having Goku win the fight, but in the end they pulled that bullshit ending.

    Even Goku doesn't beat everyone on his own, I understand. But in the end he always has the moment. (I don't hate it, ofc he's why we love dB)

    But as I said, what's the point of giving vegeta god level power, if he's just going to lose and then cheer for Goku every fight. I'm not a Goku hater or a vegeta sucker. I'm just saying Vegeta's the only character in dbz for whom we can make an as 'One of the best Anime characters of all time', because he's literally the only one with any sort of character arc, and development. That's why I just want to see Vegeta win once.

    Why weren't fusion earrings considered cheating in the Tournament of Power?

    Before the tournament it was made clear that no items were allowed in the tournament. Why was Kefla allowed to use them? Wouldn't they be considered an outside item that affects power, stamina, etc? Physical Weapons and Senzu Beans weren't allowed. I don't see how the fusion earrings get a pass. I can understand allowing fusion via the choreographed dance, as that is a learned skill, but the physical earrings are an outside item that should not have been allowed.

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

    Blind Dragon Ball Sequels Review: Part 3 - Super 17 Saga (DBGT)

    I'm watching the dragon ball sequels for the first time, then making a review of each major story arc, credit goes to /u/Crpal for the way this was formatted, Here's a link to an overview of what these reviews include, + a link to all parts.

    Part 0: Overview

    Part 1: Black Star Dragon Ball Saga (DBGT)

    Part 2 - Baby Saga (DBGT)

    Sub-Plots/Sections:

    The Tournament: This section was actually pretty fun, I loved the part where Vegeta was punching the wall and Trunks walked in on him. After the Tournament, I thought to myself "this isn't really as bad as people say it is", but this whole arc turned out to be a wasted idea. Also, I thought they got rid of the Junior division at the end of Z? What happened with that?

    Pre-Super 17 Fusion: This is probably the weakest part of this arc, where lots of sloppy and lazy writing comes in. Why was Android 19 in hell if he was an android? Why was Major Metralitron in hell if he was an android? Also, all the fights in this section were pretty underwhelming, and I really don't care about people like general rildo and the saibamen. In one of my other reviews, I said that Dr. Myuu was a copy of Dr. Gero, and I like how they kind of recognized this in their own way by having them combine their similar abilities. Cell and Frieza are wasted in this arc, they are extremely underused and have NPC-like personalities.

    Android 18 Vs. Android 17: THIS IS SO WASTED. This arc has the ability to have ANY VILLAIN from the past 500 episodes of dragon ball content be the main bad guy with the gates of hell opening, and it has a good excuse for it, but they chose ANDROID 17??? 18 vs. 17 should've been a really touching moment but it felt way too rushed, they could've slowed down some scenes of given android 18 like 5 seconds to look at her husband's body and maybe start crying or something, but it plays out like this: "android 18 we are meant to be one" 1 minute of wasted time "no" 1 second later *krillin dies* 1 second later "NOOOO MY HUSBAND YOU MONOSTER" 1 second later *android 18 gets defeated* 1 second later *shows shot of their bodies* 1 second later *cuts away*. GT does this a lot and it's starting to be a real problem, Piccolo's death sequence was shoved into 5 minutes of screentime maximum, and it felt very anti-climactic.

    Goku Vs. Super 17: Until android 18 showed up, this fight was really boring. Super 17's design is cool as shit, he's got the long hair and the flick, the godly outfit, the long build, BUT WHY IS HIS CHIN SO FUCKING LONG? I know it's a stupid complaint, but it's hard to keep my attention when every time they cut bang to android 17 I see how horribly drawn he was in almost every frame.

    Movie Canon: Making the dragon fist canon was the best thing this arc offered, Goku punching through super 17 reminded me of when he did the same to King Piccolo all those years ago in the original dragon ball.

    Question: Is everything from the Movies/Filler canon to dbgt? They've shown 1. Cooler, 2. Dragon Fist, 3. Goz and Mez, 4. Cell and Frieza keeping their bodies, 5. And I've seen a clip of Gogeta

    Best Moment: The Dragon Fist

    Worst Moment: Frieza and Cell doing dumb shit for 3 episodes

    Predictions:

    There will be a 2-4 year timeskip - Could still happen

    Goku will get turned back into an adult - Could Still happen

    Vegeta or Trunks will get SSJ4 or 3

    Ranking The Arcs: (I know most of this review is full of complaints, but I think I just had high expectations because of the baby arc, when I started GT I was expecting it to be garbage)

    Baby Saga>Super 17 Saga>Black Star Dragon Ball Saga>

    What I know about the next arc: There are multiple shadow dragons; Gogeta is in it; Fans like it, but not as much as the baby saga

    ​

    After the shadow dragon saga, I'm going to watch a hero's legacy, read Jaco, and then include them in this series. (I'll start DBS after)

    Just curious to hear everyone's thoughts. I prefer the clean cut look of GT Goten though I can see some finding it to be a bit too similar to adult Gohan's appearance.

    I wouldn't mind seeing more of the End of Z Goten design, but as it stands now, I like GT Goten most

    Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure, the most bizarre DB movie?

    Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure is a very bizarre DB movies, unlike the other DB movies this isn't a simple retelling, it's a completely new rewritten story where it mixes both the Red Ribbon arc and the Tien Shinhan arc.

    Chiaotzu is the emperor of the Kingdom of Mifan who holds a tournament, Tien is his bodyguard/guardian, Master Shen is a Minister, Tao is a general, General Blue is a Lieutenant in the Mifan army and Metallitron is a sergeant in The mifan army.

    This army is trying to capture the dragon balls and kick Upa and Bora out of their land, Chiaotzu wanting his "wife" Ran Ran to be wished back (Ran Ran is a doll). This movie is also a Dr. Slump crossover, with multiple characters making from that series making an appearance and Arale beats up General Tao.
