Drew Krillin from the Tournament of Power, Yuya Takahashi style. I had fun with this one, because Krillin deserves more love. Reference linked in comments.

I met Chris Sabat Today at GalaxyCon and he did some awesome one-liners with Vegeta's Voice! Anyone met DBZ VAs at conventions and other events?

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 09:17 PM PST

I met him live in person and he did a few one-liners at my request. I was even about to buy an autographed official artwork but realized I don't have much cash and still had to buy an autographed photo of Azula from Grey Deslisle so I decided to save my cash (sadly as another reddit post I made shows, it was closing time when I finally came across Deslisle and could not buy any autograph or live photo shots and other fanservice product from neither her nor Chris Sabat).

Anyone here met the DBZ cast, both dubbed in your country's language and in the original Japanese, in person live at conventions or other events?

I gotta say it was ****ing awesome to hear Vegeta's voice live in person!

After rewatching the series, I think I finally see the issue some people have with it

I love Super. I don't think I can put the emotions I felt while watching a lot of the scenes into words.. When Goku and Freeza went up against Jiren I almost lost my mind. Hell, Spirit Sword Trunks "killing" Zamasu almost brought me to tears. TOP Goku gave me chills in all his big fights.. but there really are some things I've grown to dislike about the show.

    • Firstly, I think the arcs are extremely short. TOP aside, every arc felt short and ultimately unimportant.

    • I really hate the one villain formula. They really just reveal every villain in the first few episodes and then that's who we're dealing with forever. Whatever happened to underlings/sub bosses being important? Or underlings/sub bosses who made Goku and the Z-fighters sweat so he can push themselves and find strategies to beat them. Powerful sub bosses made the actual bosses feel monumental. Now? Beerus had no underlings, Zamasu had no underlings Broly had no underlings, and the grunts in both the Freeza and Moro arcs are just fodder to keep the side characters busy. If Z was written like Super is, Raditz would be the big bad of the Saiyan arc. He'd whoop everyone's ass for 20 episodes only for Goku to go Super Saiyan at the end, lose the form, and then pull out a Spirit Bomb that he learnt from Kami off screen to defeat him.

    • The roster of characters is way too bloated with characters who have already finished their story arcs. I love Piccolo, I love Gohan and I love Krillin, but just forcing them into the story and rehashing their previous story arcs is just shallow fan service and feels a lot like what the Star Wars sequels did. Krillin already went through the anxiety of fighting guys stronger than him and feeling useless. It doesn't make sense doing now that he's gotten the wife and child of his dreams and has gone up against both Cell and Freeza. Gohan getting nerves and then going through over confidence syndrome is redundant at this point. Because of his over confidence, his father had to sacrifice his life when he was a child. Because of his lack of training, he failed to protect the world from Buu. Rehashing these points doesn't make Gohan anymore interesting. Either have him train and evolve his character or just bench him. I think the entire roster needs to be revised. If characters aren't evolving and growing, then just cut them or save them for cameos. Goku, Chi Chi, Vegeta and Bulma seem to be the only OG characters that haven't gone stale because they're constantly growing. The new additions of Beerus, Whis, Jaco and Champa are really interesting and freshens up the story and character interactions. Everyone else is stagnant and stale.

    • transformations just seem to materialize out of thin air, without any foreshadowing or build. The reason Ultra Instinct felt so awesome was because there was at least one episode prior to it happening that foreshadowed its existence. Did we really need 4 other transformations that had nothing but exposition dumps or no information about them at all? We could've just jumped from SSG to Ultra Instinct and nothing would've really changed. SS1 & 2 had a journey. Ultimate Gohan was a major asspull, but it had a journey too. God Ki deserved so much better than it got.
