    Trying to understand ki

    I've been thinking about how Ki (or energy) works in dragon ball. First I thought that there must be positive and negative Ki, that repel and attract each other. this is how I can explain how energy balls stay together (or don't lose their form like the destructo disc). this works pretty well, but I have one question. If Ki is destructive when interacting with matter, how do the Auras of Ki users not hurt them? how do you distinguish between "harmful" and "safe" Ki energy? Sorry for the rant. I know dragon ball is not meant to be taken realistically, but i wanna built a model of Ki to create a mock-up energy system in a game.

    I know he said he could but kami and piccolo are the same person. I don't think kami could actually be separated like that.

    So I just watched the new episode of dragon ball heroes, and there's this homeless version of Goku (I think), I haven't watched DB heroes in a long time, stopped at ep 2, so I'm wondering who this guy is, any answers?

    Did Goku become a super saiyan prior to fighting frieza? Hear me out.

    Hi,

    We probably all seen the episode where Goku turned into a Super Saiyan. The thing I've always questioned is why Goku wasn't suprised by this newly discovered power?

    In the episode of Bardock, an animation released years after (IDK whether this is considered canon), Bardock was suprised by this new power and Goku was not.

    This led me to believe that Goku already had transformed into a Super Saiyan before he fought Frieza and my speculation for that is when Goku was training the space ship, on his way to Namek.

    Why do I think this?

    Master Roshi mentioned that the power he achieved could overwhelm a man and change them forever. He was referring to the power that of a Super Saiyan. He also mentioned that Goku was struggling to hold onto to who he is.

    We probably all know that the Saiyan race is a proud and bloodthirsty race and we've also seen the power of Broly, him not being able to control their power. When they were out of control, chaos broke loose. Broly became an evil fighting machine, because he couldn't control his Super Saiyan powers.

    Knowing this, it makes sense that Master Roshi meant that there was a possibility for Goku not being able to control his Super Saiyan transformation and wrecking havoc on Namek and probably in all of the universe (just like Broly).

    Goku was also aware of these facts and that led me to believe that he kept the Super Saiyan transformation as a last resort, just like the Spirit Bomb. He also didn't know how to turn into a Super Saiyan at will and that also could be a second reason why he didn't tap into the power earlier.

    Another example is when Gohan turned into a Super Saiyan 2 at the Cell Games. Gohan transformed for the first time into a Super Saiyan 2 for a few second when he was training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. He couldn't transform at will until the Cell Games he learned how to at will.

    Major difference between Goku and Gohan is that Goku was aware and Gohan unaware.

    What do you think? Could there be some truth to this or is it really that his first time was on Namek?

    I'd like to hear your opinions.

    Extra note: Super Saiyan transformations are power multipliers, so the base form power can be increased to achieve a higher power level when transforming in a Super Saiyan. It's totally possible that Goku's maximum power level at Ginyu's fight was 180K and after the beating, jumped to a much higher power level. This is because a Saiyan's power increases dramatically after they're fatally wounded.
